Remarks
MSc Food Processing and Technology in Lucknow University is one of the best courses provided by the University. The course is available in a few colleges in the city and is highly recommended if you have an interest in the field of food processing. Admission takes place via an entrance exam conducted by the University and a merit list is created on the basis of that. The faculty is highly knowledgeable and very cooperative. Students will find books related to the course in the departmental library as well as the central library present on the University campus. No extra charges are taken for the departmental library. The laboratory is also equipped with high-tech instruments and equipment which makes it easy to gain practical experience along with theoretical knowledge. Overall it is a great opportunity for the students who are willing to build a future in the field of Food Processing.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose the course as I wanted to build a future in food processing. The faculty here at the University is highly qualified and most of them hold a doctorate degree. The faculty is supportive and is always there to help out the students. The teaching method applied by the professors is very elaborative. They not only provide theoretical knowledge but also provide practical knowledge of the operations. Exams are conducted semester wise and mid-semester exams are taken as well to keep a check on the students.
Internships Opportunities
Internships are highly encouraged by the University and references are provided for the internships. Internships are a part of the curriculum and are compulsory for all students. However, only a few courses offer paid internships. Also, some courses provide stipend projects for the students.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees are appropriate compared to the opportunities and services provided on the campus. Scholarships are also provided to students who are unable to afford the expenses. It provides a wide range of job opportunities as well.
Campus Life
Cultural programs are organized almost every month and students are highly encouraged to participate. Special programs are also conducted on special occasions like independence day, republic day, teachers day, children's day, etc. Also, a 100-year celebration was organized in 2020 as the University completed its 100 years of establishment. Student political organizations are also active on the campus. The cultural committee is headed and run by students themselves.
