Entrance Preview
AIEEE, My AIR was around 65,000. I opted for B. Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering. ECE and CSE are two main B. Tech. branches offered at JIIT, Noida. I had more interest in ECE compared to CSE (was not basically interested in writing codes) that made me choose ECE over CSE.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum for both ECE and CSE is good. The college gives equal emphasis to practical knowledge as the theoretical knowledge. The college has enough labs and machinery for almost every subject related to the course. And the curriculum is not that hectic if you're not lagging behind on your part.
Internships Opportunities
The college does not provides intern-ship. But yes, as per their curriculum doing an intern-ship from a company is mandatory in third year of the course. You'll have to look for the company yourself and the stipend depends on the company you choose.
Placement Experience
This is the best part about the college. The placements are really good. If you managed a decent CGPA and are sitting in the placement process of all the companies that visit the college, it highly unlikely that you leave the college without a job offer in hand.
College Events
The college has its own fest that is held every year. Plus different inter house or other events keep happening in the college. There is also a freshers welcome party for the new comers who join the college. I was part of the college's dance troop "Mystic Madness" and every memory of that troop is still afresh.
Fee Structure And Facilities
In my time, the per semester fees was Rs. 35000/- and an annual development fees of 75,000. It might have changed or increased now. If you opt for hostel facility, the charges are extra. The per semester fees is somewhere around 35,000. Overall, if you're from a different city, your annual expense including everything would be somewhere around 1.5-2 lakhs.
Campus Life
Gender ratio you can say is around 10:3/4, where higher figure is obviously for males. And there are enough opportunities for extra curricular activities like Robotics, debated, etc. There are various societies and clubs run by the senior students in the college. You just need to find the club of your choice and join it.
Exam Structure
Every semester is divided into 3 terms - T1, T2 and T3 and vivas. Every term has their share in the final grading of the semester. It might have got changed now. In my time, T1 was of 15 marks, T2 of 25 marks and T3 of 35 marks. Rest 25 marks were of vivas and practicals. And according to your score out of 100, you're graded. Each grade has certain value that contributes to your overall CGPA.
