Entrance Preview

I took admission in Kharagpur college in the year 2003 after my Higher Secondary. I opted for Zoology Honers. The environment of this college was and is great for education. As I had a great love for nature so i liked the enviornment very much over other colleges of our area. Teaching staffs were great and they taught us very well and we did great after graduating from this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

It was huge curriculum it was designed by Vidyasagar University. And it was very helpfull for post graduation and competitive exam. It helped a lot to get a job. The curriculum was brilliant. Yes our curriculum was 100% equivalent with NET syllabus.there are many students from our batch doing research and established in this field.

Internships Opportunities

Now days they may provide internship to some special students. But This is actually called scholarship. Some brilliant students used to get that. There was no provinces for stipend in my stream that was zoology.

Placement Experience

Well job placement opportunities were little but still many smart boys and girls managed to get placement in airlines companies. Sales executives were hired from our college. If you want a great job you need to study hard and crack the exam and you will get the job.

College Events

We celebrated 15th august, 23rd january, 26th january 12th january, annual sports, annual fest, college tour held, departmental tour held, blood donation camp held, election held. All the above said programme used to happen in our beloved college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure was very feasible. As i passed out ten years back I do not remember properly about the college fees but it was not more than 2k per month. There was scholarship system for brilliant students.

I've always found economics to be really interesting and thats why I choose to persue it. I wanted to dive deep into the actual concepts and workings of the economy and understand how the world works from an economist's point of view. Sadly the curriculam doesnt bridge the gap between theory and real life. It focuses heavily on textbook and not how the world works.

Completely relevant. As the college is autonomous it has its own syllabus. Which matches with the net gate jam exam syllabus. When someone came our college for seminar they strange that we know this much. Exam are quite difficult in 2 months interval.

The Physical Chemistry faculties are the best I got, that influenced me to carry forward my research carrier in Physical Chemistry. It was good to be a part of that college

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would say the course is good but you have to opt for masters and PhD to get a good placement. After bsc there's not any placement. The curriculum was basically practical and theoretical based. But I think it should be more practical so that we can get a job after doing bsc. The teaching method was good I didn't have any problem with that. As it was under Calcutta University so the exam questions were too difficult, sometimes it came out of our syllabus , i think they should change this a little bit .

The reality of SCC

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus for BSc. Microbiology Hons. was in line with my interests. Few topics like virology, bacteriology, and diversity of the microbial workd are what drew my attention to pick this course. Although there are some portions which one would consider "boring", but I believe every subject has its interesting as well as boring portions. It's seems fair to judge a subject by seeing if the "boring" portions outweigh the "interesting" parts or not.

In terms of relevance and comprehensiveness of the course curriculum, my rating is solid 4.1 out of 5. Because it offers a variety of courses like compulsory english, environmental science, constitution values of India, Inter Disciplinary Courses where one can opt for a variety of subjects which change along with the course proceeds or semester changes. Not only that two major papers and one minor paper are present throughout the semester. As a student we should be well aware of our country and its law as well as how we can keep our environment healthy followed by sustainable development.

The admission process was easy to be honest. As I mentioned earlier I applied for Madpur college,but our college is far more better than Madpur college.Plus Our college is 10 minutes away from my house. I come from a general caste. That's why I didn't had any quota. The admission criteria was based on marks of 12 the obviously (not by age).So it was all based on marks.
