College- da- review

I applied for NIT PATNA. NIT DURGAPUR, NIT ROURKELA, NIT NAGPUR, AND NIT JAMSHEDPUR. My rank was 8278 in SC Category, so i was elligible foe mechanical, civil, metallurgy, production branch, But my priority was mechanical. Because i like this branch. I availed SC quota for admission. In the second round of couselling I for NIT JAMSHEDPUR mechanical. So, I locked the seat, because this industrial city, and placement strategies here are very high. About 98% students get placed in NIT JAMSHEDPUR. Minimum marks should be 80-100 for SC/ST Category and 120-150 for General ones. Admission process starts with JOSSA COUNSELLING . We choose colleges and branch according to our wish. Then there will 6 round of counselling process for selection of seats. You may/may not get any seat in these processes. In the last CSAB round also takes place for the students who weren't available for any seats. So the remaining seats gets distributed among them. I got my highest priority in 3rd round.

I believe placement opportunities for mechanical branch are very high in NIT JAMSHEDPUR. Thats why I chose mechanical here. Faculty ratio is quiet good. I mean we dont have to face any issue during online classes. teachers are always available. Most of the faculty members are Phd passouts from IIT KHARAGPUR, So i must say they are quiet good at their subject matter. They can explain your doubt anywhere, anytime. I like there gesture too. There are two exams in each semester, mid semester with half of the syllabus, and end semester with full syllabus. Plus we have viva from practicals in the end. Question papers and marking scheme seem very tricky and its difficukt to obtain full marks in each subjects. But where there is a will, there is a way.

You can sit for in-campus and off- campus internship opportunities in our college i.e; NIT JAMSHEDPUR. You can sit there in your starting of third year and work there as an intern in those companies and according to your work and experience , you'll get selected for various category of job.

Placement level is very high in NIT JAMSHEDPUR. It's like 95-96% for CS and MECHANICAL.But its somewhat low in CIVIL and METALLURGY branch. Various companies like amazon, swiggy, upstox visist our college for placement. Average package for each of these is around 9-10 lakh/ annum. My plans after getting B.tech degree is to sit in GATE exam. I want to pursue PSU job in mechanical sector.

We give 52000 rupees for each semester (that's for SC/ST student) and 100500 for each semester (that's for General students. It includes Mess charges, hostel charges, infrasturctural fees and tution fees. You may get Scholarship and Financial Assistance, but you have to fulfill certain terms and condition. Government provide money for non-refundable money like mess charges, hostel charges.

There are three different fest from start to end of the whole year. One of them is conducted in march/ april, sece=ond one in august/ september and third one in november/ december. Books are easily available in college library, you won't face any trouble in getting any of them. You can play batminton, volleyball and basketball, near campus and hostel area. There is a seperate swimming pool for students also, there is a gymkhana for workouts and all, There are various sporting, non-sporting, technical and non-technical clubs in college for students. You can become the member of these teams by giving interview and written tests. There are two round of personal interviews for each teams.
