Entrance Preview
An entrance exam conducted by GNDU, Amritsar was used to finalize the candidates for the B.I.T. degree program. I was ranked 34th in the entrance exam. Due to college's reputation as an institution of excellence, it was first choice for the students in and around Jalandhar/Punjab.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course structure was prescribed by the university and it was well structured with proper mix of theory and practical. It has covered almost all the basics and prepared the students for next advanced studies well. There were also subjects dealing with accounts in much details.
Internships Opportunities
No, internship was not available. There were no internship provided by the college. Although, some of our seniors were working for the college after they had passed out from their respective courses.
Placement Experience
There were not many placement and job opportunities. This is primarily because there were not many I.T. companies in Punjab. Also, our primary focus was to get into some advanced course before attempting to get into some job right away after the bachelors course.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are no loan facilities available directly from the college but college authorities are helpful with all the documents you need to apply for and education loan from bank. I have not availed any loan or any scholarship from the college though so have limited experience of the same.
Hostel Facilities
There were no hostel facilities. The mess food was good and had variety. But the mess/canteen facilities could not be used as a replacement of the regular daily food. It is good to have a snack or food once a while. There is no homely kind of food available in the mess.
Exam Structure
The exams were conducted twice every year and for each subject the exam consists of 8 subjective question. The questions were set by the university. We had to attempt any five of the questions. The questions were from the course subject but not necessarily from the subject recommended text books. So, we had to remain updated with the latest on the subject. ...
Admission
An entrance examination was conducted by the university for a admitting students to B.C.A. and B.I.T. courses. After the results of the entrance exam, students had to apply to 3 colleges of their choice. The colleges then published the merit list based on the application they received.
Faculty
Faculty was very sincere and always eager to help the students. They had the right attitude to groom students in the new environment in first year. Faculty was always helpful and always looking to equip students with the right tools so that they could explore and learn the course in a thorough manner.
