Remarks

Being a government medical college, management is responsive for students needs and queries. Everyone are experienced physician and specialists.

Entrance Preview

I came in through All India Pre-Medical Test. I prepared for the entrance examination from Briliant entrance coaching centre in pala, kerala. All India ranks of the range 1300-1800 get in to this college. And it varies each year.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

MBBS course has a very promising career option for aspiring students who want to contribute to society and have immense self sactisfaction. There's a lot of research activities going in medical field right now. So after obtaining MBBS degree there's a lot of opportunities for research in india and abroad. Clinical and non-clinical specializations are there which gives a student freedom to decide his life.

Internships Opportunities

There's a once year internship which currently gives 13k stipend. The experience of being a crri is very important and worthy.

College Events

5

PRADHARSHINI is annual intercollege festival which was first of its kind to start in a medical college with a history of 32 years. AADUKALAM is intercollegiate sports fiesta from medical colleges all-over tamilnadu. We have MEDRENALINE which is academic oriented intercollegiate program which includes quiz, case presentations, training courses etc. And there's a lot of intra college cultural, sports and academic environmental activities conducted every year apart from everything above.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Tution fees is only 4000. Overall fees is very affordable. The total expenses would be less than 15 lakh Including books , university fee, exam fee, mess and other miscellaneous expenses. Fees needed to be paid only during respective years. The course is financially very affordable. Same course if studied in a private college would cost you more than 2 crore. In some colleges the capitation fee itself would be one crore, So choosig a government college is very essential. Tamil Nadu has the cheapest fees for mbbs in india.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are many scholarships for students Not particularly from college. There are medal exams conducted each year to find and encourage bes students in every subject

Campus Life

2.5

Gender ratio is almost equal. And its there's healthy environment for an individual's development despite his race, caste, gender etc. Campus is blessed with greenery and proud banyan trees in centre which ages more than 100 years. I am a keralite and i could say the students , seniors , faculty and all are very welcoming. There's also north indian students here who all are in harmony with everyone. Economically there are students from every strata in this college. High class Middle class and lower middle class. Most students are economically well established. But there's no discriminationof any sorts in college.

Hostel Facilities

4

New hostel buildings have been opened2 years before. New PG hostel is under construction in addition to the existing hostel. So accomodation is very comfortable. And cheap too. The room rent is only 750ruppes /month in hostel. And 2-3 students share adequate sized room worth adequate lighting, ventilation , tables chairs etc. Hostel is equipped with reading hall, gym, TV hall, refrigerator and washing machines for students to use. There's absolutely no ragging. And mess food is okay. Menu is chosen by students and veg and non-veg items are available.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni is very active and supporting towards the students needs. And seniors are very helpful guides.

Exam Structure

There's enough time to balance academics and non-academics. Our college has many cultural activities and sports and we host PRADHARSHINI which is one of the most celebrated intercollege festivals in south india. There's 4 yearly exams. And totally 14 main subjects.

Faculty

3.5

Course Curriculum Overview:

the course is very challenging obviously as we're studying to become doctors. it could've been better by increasing the duration of the course. our first year/ semester instead of it being for 12 months was only of 9-10 months so our portions are being pushed a little. it happened due the scam etc around neet and our course start date was pushed. the course could be made easier by increasing the duration of the course. we have exams every week which does make it easier to keep up with the portions but makes it too stressful for us. maybe instead of keeping exams on monday they could change it to saturday so we can relax and be free on sundays.
