Remarks
I was eligible for the admission process of SIBM Pune and SCMHRD. The criteria for selection to these institutions are 97.3 for SCMHRD and 98 for SIBM, Pune for the general category. There were 3 rounds for both these colleges 1) Wat 2)GD 3)Pi. The process is completely student-driven and very smooth and hassle-free even during the online mode. An aggregate score is calculated and the lists are rolled out after that.
Course Curriculum Overview
In SCMHRD you have to choose your specialization in the 1 sem and according to your specialization, you would have predefined subjects by Symbiosis International University. The faculties at SCMHRD are highly qualified and have experience of at least 5 years in teaching and few faculties have experience of 20 years in teaching. The learning at SCMHRD is completely based on study-based and focuses on experiential learning. There is a semester system so in each semester there is a midterm and end-term but also there are quizzes and case studies in the regular classes.
Internships Opportunities
At SCMHRD companies offering roles for summer, internships are in different specializations like HR, sales and marketing, finance, operation, business analytics, infrastructure development management. The roles offered are for HR intern, pre-sales, business development associate, Marketing intern, etc. The projects related to the internships were employee engagement in online mode. Generating new leads, doing company-specific market research, and other different roles which depend on the companies needs and they are jobs predefined stints they are actual live problems faced by the company.
Placement Experience
There are campus placements for both summer and final placements. Institute gives full placement support to all the students. Last year for 180 students 115 companies visited the campus for summers and the average placement stood at 1.7 lakhs for 2 months with the highest 3.2 lakhs per 2 months. The final placements at our college for last year stood at an average of 16.5 LPA and the highest was 32 LPA. There are 100% placements at SCMHRD. There are few of the dream companies visiting our college for placement like ITC, Microsoft, VI, Dell, Accenture, EY, and many among fortune 500 too.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees at SCMHRD are 10 LPA and yes it is not cheap but it is worth it as there are many scholarship schemes available and also financial support from banks like sbi, bob, etc which have tie-ups with the institute. The placement scenario is also very good as the last year's final placements stood at an average of 16.5 LPA with the highest package offered at 32 LPA.
Campus Life
We are not able to still visit the campus but still, all the activities that would happen in the offline mode are mostly happening in the online mode. There are 11 main committees in SCMHRD. All these committees are completely student-driven. There are selection rounds for one to be part of the committee. Neev is the annual cultural fest of SCMHRD and it's the 3 largest b school festival. Kt happens in the month of October. We have excess to e-library which has thousands of books and also access to research papers and case studies. Right now in the online mode, the sports activities like e-sports are happening right now but as the campus will open there will be all sports activities like cricket, Football, etc and we also have an indoor swimming pool.
Hostel Facilities
We haven't been called to the hostel because of the ongoing covid pandemic but we have huge hostel facilities which have triple sharing room with 3 beds, tables, cupboards, racks and 1 bathroom in each room. The room doesn't have AC but the weather in Pune is so pleasant that it doesn't require AC. I have heard that there are 4 meals a day starting from breakfast to lunch, high tea, and dinner. This is a residential program so there is no facility for leaving the college hostel and the students cannot go for rented rooms or pg.
Interview Experience
The SNAP test is a 1 hr test in which has similar topics to CAT but the level of questions is comparatively easy but it is a speed test. During the GD the topics given to me were AI pros and cons and from what I have heard from my friends the topics are related to the current hot topics, news and industries, and technologies. I prepared for these rounds by reading newspapers every day and keeping updating my knowledge. I also prepared notes for all the big events that happened in the world in the past 2 years.
