IIT-B , M.Sc- Physics

We all know IITs are especially made to impart technical education on the Highest standards but that also doesn't make that the other courses here are any lesser. This was why I decided to opt for M.Sc- Physics here because the addition of IIT value to any profile is a great achievement. The institute is AICTE approved and it was ranked 1st by overall rankings of QR while NIRF gave it 3rd place for the same in 2021. For admissions in the Master's programme at IIT Bombay it is important to have a valid score in IIT JAM entrance.

Showing the levels of education at IIT Bombay the course curriculum of our M.Sc programme included various interactive and laboratory activities throughout the 2 year Master's programme. Around 99.82% of the teachers at IIT Bombay have Ph.D. degrees and that is the reason the quality of education here is top notch. The reason I chose Physics specialisation over others for my career was the deeply I used to get connected with topics of this subject from my XII days.

I haven't participated in Internships and the main reason for that was such that I can secure better results in the placement drive. I took this decision quite confusingly but it really helped me in the Placements as I was able to get a whopping package.

The Placements of M.Sc programmes at IIT Bombay are really beneficial both im terms of salaries and work roles given. The 2020 batch of our institute was able to have an average salary of INR 18 LPA and my preparation for the round really helped me in getting a above satisfactory package through the campus drive. The famous recruiters for 2020 batch were Tata consultancy, Microsoft, Deloitte, HCL, Amazon etc and overall 90% of the batch got placed under good job packages.

Along with the highly reputed standards of the IIT group, the fee structure of IIT Bombay is also one major reason to apply for the M.Sc programme here. We were charged a semester fee of INR 19,000 only and I think it is more than affordable for an institution like IIT-B. The total programme fee for M.Sc- Physics was INR 76,000.

Some highly productive laboratory activities and seminars were organised for our M.Sc programme and that really took our learning to a better level or extent. The library services of IIT Bombay had some of the best content options and I tried to optimise the facilities to best of my level. It was satisfied with the co-curricular events of the Institute, because they helped me to maintain a balanced mind. The most famous events in IIT Bombay included names like Tech fest, Quiz/study case competitions, Mood Indigo and the Freshers-farewell parties of the institute.

Hostel Life is a beautiful way to get the best of educational outputs in my opinion, which was the reason I decided to opt for them even being from Mumbai. This really helped me to get fruitful results. The best thing about the accommodation services was that students were there from across the country and akk different courses which gave us a wider audience to connect with and learn from. The mess facilities of IIT Bombay were also well matched to its educational standards.

It is important to have a Bachelor's degree in the same field from an recognised institution to apply for the M.Sc Program while for the selections process the same IIT JAM entrance score is noted by the institute and then candidates also have to go through the CCMT counselling procedure.
