NITJSR - Go for placements!

1. Government of India Undertaking ( Tution fee gets remitted for financially weaker students)2. Placements are pretty good3. Location has high density of industries4. Not so strict Institute. It helps in learning whatever skills one want to learn. (Strict here means forcefully filling the domain knowledge in a student by taking difficult exams and forcing students to attend high number of lectures.)5. Branch Sliding Introduced6. Infrastructure is good now. Academic building is new and hostels are good as well.7. Sports facilities are also good. I used to play tennis at night.and so on.

All the new faculties are PhD and they work really hard for the benefit of students. Old professors are even better, they have better teaching experience.But somehow, like other colleges, the curriculum is not at par with the industry standards.

I will start my internship in my 8th semester. I have got internship offer from Flipkart. The role offered is Supply Chain Management Intern.

Placements, That's the only thing most of us look before coming to NITJSR. Placement percentage is very high. For most of the branches it is 100%.I was very sure from the first day at my college that I will get placed. Even the average salaries of students is also good, so once you enter the institute, there is no need to worry about placements. A large number of companies visits the institute for full time offer as well as internships.

Tution fee is 62500 per semester, If we add Institute fee, hostel fee and mess fee in it, It becomes 1.04 Lakhs per semester.Including security deposits, the fee of four years is 7.5 Lakhs.1.Being it a government sector undertaking, the tution fee of financially weaker sections gets remitted. (Reserved categories SC/ST don't need to pay Tution fee).2.There are few options to get scholarships from private companies as well.3. Govt schemes like e-kalyan scholarships are also available4. Banks readily gives loans to students at discounted rates. (There is a State Bank of India Branch within the campus)

There are a lot of campus activities which one can be part of.1. Technical Clubs (Even they went US to win prizes)2. Sports Club (Takes part in InterNIT and also a lot of tournaments with other colleges)3. Cultural Clubs (Dancing, Singing, Acting etc.)And then there are huge fests. OJASS, URJA, CULFEST to name a few.

I was pretty much satisfied with the hostels.Single room with balcony.Lift facility24 hours water and electricityMeal quality was good as well. But, there was scope for improvement. There was a Night canteen and also other sources to get food anytime.

JEE Mains and good marks in 12th is required. Although the merit is only based on JEE Mains. In my personal opinion, cracking JEE Mains is pretty easy as one needs to solve previous year questions and read concepts from basic books (even NCERT in case of Chemistry) to crack jee mains.
