Remarks
The admission process was very great. I got selected in the first round as I had good marks in my PU. And I got a reduction in fee due to my nice percentage in PU. The faculty were very supportive. And during the admission process, I was informed about all the scholarships that I was eligible for. I'm happy for being a part of DVS. Those who had average marks were selected in the second and third rounds. But everyone was happy during the admission process. The fee is completely dependent on the marks you have scored in PU.
Course Curriculum Overview
All the teaching staff in Chemistry were good. They taught us very well, but some lecturers were very strict. All the lecturers were postgraduates and some had doctorate degrees. They had a deep knowledge of the subject. And we were given a lot of work to do daily. But it was very helpful for us. There are two semesters per year. And two internals were conducted for every semester. The internals was moderate and conducting internals was very helpful for the sem exam. Those who scored less or those who were absent were given a third internal. And everyone was satisfied.
Fees and Financial Aid
As mentioned earlier fees are completely dependent on the marks you have scored in PU. It cost around 10000 rupees per year for me. But my friends used to pay around 22000 rupees per year. For everyone exam fee was excluded. The exam fee was supposed to pay twice a year. It cost around 900 rupees per semester. There were many scholarships available. I got vidyasiri scholarship. And many of my friends got inspired scholarships too! And much other government and non-government scholarships were available. The students with high marks in each subject were awarded every year with the cash price. It encouraged every student to study more. The students were encouraged to attend many campus placements. I attended the Wipro campus drive and I was selected. With me, four other students were selected for the Wipro campus placement.
Campus Life
Freshers' welcome day was conducted twice. Once by college and another by seniors. Many resource persons were invited. Golden jubilee celebrations were conducted when I was a student there. During this time then CM Dr. B S Yediyoorappa and then governor Vajubaiwala were invited. Their presence increased the value of DVS college of arts and science.
