Remarks
I applied for MPDTE (counseling for MP colleges) and then got IET DAVV, Civil Branch in the first round. But I didn't want it so I sat for ROUND 1 UPGRADE 1 and then got Electronics and Instrumentation. There was no UPGRADE ROUND 2 this time and 2nd round is always a bit risky. Hence I settled for EI in IET DAVV. But later to my surprise, I found that people having ranks way beyond mine(like something around 130000-140000 without any quota except for STATE Quota) got into the same college and Branchlike me during the College Level Counselling (which is done when the 2nd ROUND of the counseling session is over and there are a few seats vacant). And I belong from MP so I too had the state quote, the rest I was GENERAL, Non-EWS, Male. I'm not exactly sure about the data upon the actual RANKS but you can always refer to MPDTE's site for all the RANKS of all the Colleges if you want to. The admission process was pretty smooth and all the details would be provided to you prior to the college website
Course Curriculum Overview
I didn't have any other option, hence I chose EI (lol). I don't really have a good idea about the Student: Faculty ratio causes everything's been online and I've never been to the college. I'm currently in my second year. But as far as I know or have heard from the seniors, the ratio is pretty decent according to the strength of the college. I don't know about the exact qualifications of the teachers but most seem to be pretty knowledgeable (WOW!! I am finally reviewing my teachers) but just being knowledgeable won't make someone a good teacher cause my learning experience here has been like average-ish. But I can't say for sure maybe the teachers aren't comfortable teaching online and they are great teachers offline. Maybe. There are 3 MSTs(Mid Semester Test) per semester(extremely easy to PASS and a little difficult to score well) and 1 END Semester Test (if you do good in your MSTs then JUST PASSING the end sem is like a cakewalk) accompanied by VIVA (your biggest nightmare).
Internships Opportunities
There are many bodies that provide you with internships like the AICTE and the rest you'll find out once you get into college. But if a student is really talented and has a decent command of their skills then he/she could likely get good internships elsewhere. They just have to look here and there for the opportunities waiting for them. Just keep brushing up yourselves and try to learn new things every day and you will land into a nice internship. But to be honest best paying jobs these days are in the IT sector. So start learning to code since Day 1 of your college life if you want a good internship in your second year. And you can start with any language you want but in my opinion, you should start with C if you're curious about the basics of how coding works. But if you know you'll get bored easily then start from Python. You'll love it. And after you've learned some coding, try building projects and uploading them on Github. Project building is the most important part anywhere.
Placement Experience
Placements are pretty decent here as you would expect from a state college. The average package is around 6-7 lakhs per annum but doesn't get smitten by the looks of it cause most will get around 3-4 lakhs. There is only a handful who get 10-20 lakhs (who are actually responsible for shifting the average to 6-7 lakhs). But there is a scope of the off-campus placement too. But they are really tough to crack. So don't just rely on that. Well, there is something on which I wanna shed some light. The guy who's responsible for placements here is actually a very nice guy. He would really go to any lengths in order to help the students get placed decently. So the placement satisfaction and ratio is pretty good. All thanks to him. Many reputed companies take part in the placements like TCS, Infosys, etc. The college is situated near IT Park. So many companies from there come as well. There are many people who are inclined towards startups too. So if you're interested too, choose them as your friends
Fees and Financial Aid
If you're an MSME student (scoring more than 75% in MP Board or more than 85% in CBSE Boards and having a JEE MAINS RANK under 150000, you're eligible for the MP government's MSME scheme) then you won't have to pay anything except for the Hostel Fees(Eureka!!). I even heard about some other scholarships too like the ONGC's and others. But don't worry once you'll get into the college you'll be notified about all the possible scholarships which you can apply for any time during your first year. So don't worry just keep studying hard. There are many startups that are run by our college seniors. So here you can find a job but I'm pretty sure they won't pay you for it. You might have to try your luck somewhere else, where someone provides you internships online or something.
Campus Life
Honestly speaking I've never been into college (except during the admission) due to Covid. But I can tell you something which I've heard from the seniors, although I don't trust them completely there's only this to offer from my side at the moment. I hope it helps. Ashkank is our College's Annual Fest which is Central India's largest college fest. It is pretty good with a lot of people attending it. There is also a lot of fun stuff to enjoy. You'll enjoy it for sure. Then there are many small fest's and functions being organized every once in a while for which you can volunteer. The library is good with a lot of books available at your ease. Classrooms are decent enough and will do their job perfectly. Although hygiene is something which I didn't find in the bathrooms and hostels. I hope they'll fix it once the college gets back offline. Sports is fine and the extracurriculars are good too, but not online. And every club/group is run by the students themselves.
Hostel Facilities
Not been to hostels but have seen them once and they are a nightmare. Rooms are very small, congested, and ill-ventilated. Hygiene is something which lacks everywhere in the college. But I hope they fix it once we get offline. I've heard of the news about a new Hostel being constructed which is pretty good. So I hope things might get a little better in the future. MESS is actually a MESS after all. Don't expect good food there. I guess the only thing with the food there is capable of is KEEPING YOU BARELY ALIVE. The registration process is fine about the hostels but they get filled up pretty quickly. So be quick or try the UNIVERSITY HOSTEL (which is way better than the college hostel) or find yourself a nice PG. Having a PG is a great investment in my opinion. You'll find many PGs near the college. So don't worry about it.
