Remarks

I had applied to a few colleges and the last of them was St Aloysius Mangalore. The college follows a first come first serve approach in handing out admissions. You are good to go as long as you have a minimum academic grade of 60% or higher. The main point is that you arrive for application early on as seats would be filled depending on each course, generally fast. The procedure is basically handing out a written application at the administration office. You will further be interviewed by the Principal, or the Dean, or any of the HODs.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

You have two internals and a final semester exam each semester. The difficulty would depend on each course, but for B.A triple major is generally medium tough. Good preparation would be going through the previous year's question papers.

Placement Experience

0.5

Students are eligible for campus placements from the final semester. They'll be handed out a form that mentions their academic results so far at college to handpick possible internships and jobs. I already applied for a job outside of college so I wasn't involved with the placement wing of our college. But our year in general, impacted by Covid 19 had a significant absence in placements as there were no offline classes for months.

Fees and Financial Aid

I wasn't part of any scholarships or internships within the college. There is an in-house placement cell to carry out campus placements and internships. There is also financial assistance by many scholarships particularly focusing on weaker sections of society.

Campus Life

3.5

Students engage in various associations as part of their curriculum. I was part of the college literary association called Hopkins club, where we used to carry out weekly activities and posters, and events. The college currently holds a literary Instagram handle, called Wordsmiths of SAC, along with a blog site.

Hostel Facilities

3

My first year was entirely at the college hostel. The food there, for me personally, was too shabby and stale and for those reasons, I chose to shift to outside stay. Afterward, for the remaining two years I used to stay at apartments available at Valencia and Pandeshwar.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because of the dual degree that it has to offer, christ is one of the very few institutions that offer dual degree and allow you to explore both the subjects or gain combined knowledge of both the subjects. The curriculum is very up to date with subjects that relate to real world problems. What i like the most about my curriculum is the Learner centric approach where they divide the class into halves so that the teacher student ratio can be maintained in order to achieve full efficiency. One area of improvement can be inculcating more soft skills traininng into it.

Course Curriculum Overview:

- curriculum specially for BA is not like how you see in other universities it's a comprehensive curriculum where your also studying subject like AI learning, data analysis, regional languages and so much more it is a comprehensive course which is not only focusing on your major but also on an overall development of you as a student.. - well we are not only getting in-class lectures but we also have a internal component of internship every year which helps us get an experience of real world situations and job market. -There is one course called numbers we have that could be improved it basically talks about mathematical in economic applications numerical implications particularly which has not been given more thought on it could be more elaborated and structured well. - frequency is high and difficulty is moderate usually.

Placement Experience:

Placements are good. Students arw given chances to take exams and get job opportunities from there. Field trips and internships, orientations, talk shows are organized to prepare students further before stepping out for jobs. They can either take the placements they get or opt for higher studies, which is what i am doing as a degree in psychology alone does not grant a wide scope in the jobs spectrum.

Remarks:

I liked the course provided by this college. The subjects are different for every semester and the aura is splendid. This college provides a very good faculty which not only is good at keeping up with academics, but also is great in keeping a good rapport with their students. There is a whole variety of extra curricular activities which brings out the core personality of every student. I for a fact, had stage fear. But after I chose MIC, I really started getting over it.
