Awesome College

I took the IIT JEE exam, scored around 150 marks. I chose IIT Madras as the college because it is the best college on India. There was no specific interview for admission, but just a registration procedure.

My course is naval architecture and ocean engineering. This is one of the rarest course provided in India. IIT Madras makes sure that this course could be used to provide different research opportunities to the students coming here to study the course.

The college does provide internship to the students of this institute. I'm not well aware of it, but I know that the institute makes sure that the students are given the best.

The details about the placement and job opportunities provided to the students are not fully known to me, but I know certain things. IIT Madras provides a huge placement and job opportunities to the deserved students. Highest packages are often seen in IIT Madras.

There are lots of events conducted on IIT Madras. The most famous ones are Shastra and Saarang. Shastra is the college tech fest and Saarang is the college cultural fest. There are other fests too. Shastra provides different technical competitions, workshops and other events to the students from inside the college and also to the non IITM students. Saarang has lots of games, shows and competitions.

The fee structure is mainly based on the student's family income. It is feasible that way. The students with low annual family income are given 2/3 deduction of the tuition fees,i e. ₹1,00,000, and the SC/ST students are given 100% deduction of the same. Further more, they are given scholarships too.

There is an SBI Bank inside the campus, which provides loan facilities to the students. I have availed an MCM scholarship which gives me ₹1,000 per month.

The IIT campus life is awesome! Though there is a downfall in the gender ratio, everything else is awesome. There are students from every corner of India, thus there is a taste of every culture of India in IIT Madras. Sports is given a huge importance. Everything here, for me, is good.

IIT Madras never gives hectic schedules to the students. The time table is well organised so that studies and researches are been able to be done by the students, with lots of time in hand, and still have enough time for other activities. There will be two "quiz"es on a semester, and an end-semester exam.

My admission to IIT Madras was through the IIT JEE exam. According the marks received in the IIT JEE exam you'll be awarded a rank. This rank is used in allotment of the college and course., from which I got my course,Naval architecture and ocean engineering in IIT Madras.

The faculties in IIT Madras are good. They are good enough to help the students understand the concepts of their course. They are also not too much involved in their job as that would be like spoon-feeding. This is the ideal way of teaching. They are so qualified in their job as they do things the right way.
