Remarks

I opted for this college and branch because it was very reputed across this region for its facilities, teaching, and placements. The counseling was extremely student-friendly. We were guided through the whole process by our professors who were very friendly. Also, the administration and the college staff were very supportive during our counseling. We were guided step by step and also the administration was very tolerant about beginner mistakes.

Course Curriculum Overview

This is a course that is not very academically heavy. This has a good student-to-faculty ratio and all the faculty are highly qualified. The term exams are always on time having rarely been postponed

Internships Opportunities

Amazon, Microst, Adobe visit here for software engineers, also Tata motors, Qualcomm, Vedanta, L&T are other big companies that visit NIT-Jamshedpur. They offer ppos and internships across all branches to eligible students

Students gate placement in their final year although many receive ppos in 3rd year itself. Many core and non core companies visit the campus. Except Civil almost all branches boast ~90% placements, with high packages

Fees and Financial Aid

Being a government college it's fee structure is well balanced but it could have been cheaper like other NITs. It is expensive by a couple hundred thousand rupees as compared to NITs like NIT Durgapur.

Campus Life

Extremely vibrant college life, with many fests like Ojass, Urja etcetera. Also, many technical fests are held here like Technica. Extremely modern classrooms with state of art facilities. Better than most NITs and IITs

Hostel Facilities

Superb mess with a good variation in food and menu. The hostel is the place where people enjoy and make the most of their memories. Also, students spend most of their time there so it is important the hostel environment is good and that it is at NIT Jamshedpur

Overall Review of NIT Jamshedpur

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

Placement Experience:

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

According to my perspective or point of view students initiate preparing for placement cells in 3rd year ( 5th semester). The highest package of our college is 14 LPA And average package is 3.4 LPA. Approx 72 %students got placed in different different companies like tcs, wipro, accenture etc.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

I applied for NIT Raipur NIT Durgapur and NIT prayagraj I selected this college NIT Jamshedpur because it has top class placement and the branch I was getting as mechanical engineering which is a decent branch. I got rejected from NIT prayagraj due to little less rank . The admission process of my colleges you have to qualify JEE mains with around 95 percentile to get any branch as a general student then you have to go for Josaa counselling in which you will be a lot at the seat . I did choose this college because it is quite old and reputed, being a govt college it has lesser fees and offered good placements, I got IIIT Lucknow as well, but didn't opt for it as it was quite new and didn't have proper hostel and residence facilities at that moment.
