Remarks
I wanted to pursue engineering in mechanical from one of the top colleges. I gave JEE in 2017 and my Mains rank was 18,176. My JEE advanced rank was not upto the par for admission in any IIT so I tried to get admission in the best possible NIT. After result of JEE is announced we have to fill our college choices in order of priority on the JoSSA website. I gave preference to top NIT's Mechanical Engineering but my rank was again not upto the par. I was using closing ranks of last 4-5 years to find a pattern and take guess as to where can I get admission and where can I not. Mechanical Engineering in all top NITs has a closing rank of less than 10,000 but my rank was above 18,000. Then I started searching for different branches under Mechanical Engineering Department and I came to know about Production and Industrial Engineering in MNNIT Allahabad. I compared course curriculum which I got from college's website (mnnit.ac.in), it was almost identical to mechanical engineering. Then I compared the placement stats of mechanical and production and again they were quite similar in both percentage of students placed and average package that the students get. I decided that best possible option for me is Production and Industrial Engineering in MNNIT according ti my rank and luckily I got admission here too.
Course Curriculum Overview
I have explained the reason for choosing this course in previous answer. In my opinion, the course curriculum in MNNIT is quite outdated. As an NIT, this college has the freedom to modify and update it's curriculum as it sees fit but it refuses to act on it. Rather than taking example of nearest IITs (Kanpur and BHU) and following their course curriculum (which is quite updated time to time), MNNIT follows the lead of Teir - 3 UPTU colleges and follows an outdated course curriculum. As for faculty, the teaching style depends from person to person. Some teachers are really good and highly qualified, even having many research patents under their name and some are just there for the sake of it being a government job. One thing that I personally did not like was that retired faculty members are often called again again as guest faculty. Due to their old age they face many health issues and very often our classes got cancelled or transferred to PhD scholars who had no teaching experience at all. You could grab the useful knowledge in class only if you were lucky and got a dedicated professor. We had to rely solely on YouTube lectures to get any knowledge about subjects and prepare for our exams. There were 2 exams of each theory subject in every term: Mid-semester exams and End-semester exams (Mid sem - 20 marks, End sem - 60 marks, Tecaher's assessment (based on attendance and assignments) - 20 marks). There were no restrictions for attending mid sem exams, every registered student could attempt those. But in end sem exams you had to clear the minimum 75% attendance barrier to sit in exams.Passing the exams was not super hard but you had to out a fair amount of effort to pass. However, getting a good grade (say 9+ cpi) was a totally different story. MNNIT follows a system of absolute pointer on a 10 scale rather than a relative pointer in most IITs and NITs
Internships Opportunities
I did not opt for any internship opportunity during my college time.
Placement Experience
Placement stats are the best thing about MNNIT Allahabad. All I can say about the placement scenario is that if you have worked to develop the required skills and are willing to patiently wait for the right chance than you will definitely score a job from campus placements. In B.Tech, 3rd year students are allowed to sit for summer internships and final year students are allowed to sit for full-time placement only. There is no 6 month intern program for final year students here.In PG (M.Tech, MCA or MBA), Pre-final year can sit for summer internships and final year can sit for full-time as well as internship sessions. In MCA, 6 month intern opportunities are available. In M.Tech, both 6 and 11 month interns opportunities are available. In MBA, only full-time opportunities are available. The placement stats of 2021 batch are not made public yet (will be released in some time on the college website: https://tpo.mnnit.ac.in/tnp/placement/placementarchive.php) and data of 2020 batch is already available on your website.
Fee Structure And Facilities
I am acknowledged only about the fee structure of B.Tech course for general category students. For general category students, tution plus hostel fee is about 75,000-76,000 per semester. Extra mess fee of 15,000 every semester. There is a scheme for financial assistance in college. If you produce an income certificate stating that your family income less than 1 lakh per annum than the fee for each semester gets down to 8,000 only. If family income is between 1 lakh and 5 lakhs per annum, then fee each semester gets down to around 25,000-26,000.There was no fee concession in mess fee, every student (hostelers only) had to pay 15,000 per semester but the mess was subsidised and was not running on a profit basis. At the end of each year, students used to get mess refund for both the semesters in that year (around 5,000-6,000 for each year).Other than that many students got scholarship from their domicile state ( I know that MP and UP government provided scholarship for students).
Campus Life
The life at campus was quite exciting. We had a fest almost every month throughout the year.Session started in last week of July or first week of August. Freshers would have their Fresher's Function (Swagat) in last week of August.Right after Swagat, preparations for the Annual Techno-Management Fest Avishkar would start. Generally Avishkar was held in last week of September or first/second week of October. During Avishkar, we would also have GnoTalks which was a celebrity guest show and Gnosiomania which was a national level quiz competition. In November or December we would have Alumni meet where Alma matter from different batches came to college to relive their memories. In January, we had Prosang which was like a mini version of Avishkar exclusively for Robotics and Aerospace enthusiats. In March, we would have our annual entrepreneurship fest, Renaissance. In April, we would have our annual cultural fest, Culrav which was the biggest fest of the entire year budget-wise.We would also have Annual Athletics meet and a Sorts fest called Josh and JLal every year whose calendar month is not fixed and changed every year according to faculty's convince. In library, we could issue maximum of 2 books at a time for 30 days for free, after which an overdue fine of Re. 1 per day was charged.Almost all classrooms had air conditioning, some of the ACs needed repair though.Hostel for fist year was quite spacious and nice but from 2nd year onwards very small rooms were alloted and hostel buildings were very old and needed renovation. Now 2 new hostels have been built and renovation of old hostels is also almost complete. The entire campus has free wifi without any data limits or login required but a lot of websites are banned and we have to change proxy settings to access internet services. As for clubs, you name it, we had it. Dance, music, arts, dramatics, quizzing, coding, robotics, aero modeling, SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers), Entrepreneurship Club, NCC, Athletics and sports club, all were there and were thriving. Each club would have its regular meets and competitions and it was overall a very hustling and bustling environment.

Admission
No, I did not face any Group Discussion, Interview or Written Test (other than JEE) for the admission. The admission process was solely based on the JEE Mains rank. I prepared for JEE throughout my 11th and 12 th class in a coaching institute in my hometown.
