Remarks
I had only applied for this college because my friend said it is very good college but the main reason for joining it was its fee as it was very low compared to other colleges. There was no any kind of quota in the college. The admission criteria was that the student applying must have atleast 55% marks in 12th. The admission process was very simple I only had to visit the reception for once and they took all the required documents like 4 passport size photographs, 10th marksheet, 12th marksheet and a medical certificate. There was no counselling.
Course Curriculum Overview
I had chosen this course because I wanted to become a software engineer. There were about 40 students initially and 3 more students joined in leet. But the gender ratio was not good as there were only 3 girls compared to 40 boys. The teaching was very good and all of the teachers were postgraduates. The teachers were excellent as most of them were very experienced especially the maths teacher. There were exams every six months and we also had formative assessment exams in between. Talking about the term exam they were quite easy to pass except for few subjects like Maths and Basics of Electrical Engineering.
Placement Experience
Placements were there for the names as there were no big companies only a few big companies like HCL and Airtel were there rest were local companies. Students of the 8th sem were allowed to sit in placements. Local companies made offers to almost everyone but the big companies made offers to only 3 students. The highest package was 12 LPA and average packages were 1-3 LPA. I am looking to work as a web developer in an MNC.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee for every student was not the same as the college has given the concession to poor students in the admission fee. There was no scholarship but there was an exam for concession in the admission fee for every student. If any student was late in submitting the fee then there was a fine imposed on that student daily till the fee was submitted. Yes, there were in campus placement opportunities but most of the companies were local only a few were some good companies like HCL, Airtel, Railtel etc.
Campus Life
The campus is quite good, there is an annual festival at the beginning of the course and farewell parties at the end of the year. There were no tech fests. One of the best things about college was that we don't have to buy the book as they were provided for free from the library at beginning of every term and they were taken back at the end. Our college had our cricket team which played at the university level. There were other sports like badminton, volleyball, basketball, and a sports room for indoor games like chess, carrom, TT etc. We also had competitions like rangoli making, Diya decoration, dance competition, speech competition and group discussion.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel was good but not too great as there were three students in a single room which was very small. There were many times when there was no water and electricity. But the food was very good we had food four times a day breakfast, lunch, snack in evening and dinner, and different menu for each day. The hostel was quite affordable and we only had to apply for it in the beginning as there was no problem.
