Glimpse of NIT Jamshedpur

I was having the rank of 14k in JEE mains so in choice filling of college I have put NITs in which there was a possibility of getting top branches like CSE, ECE. I m from Jamshedpur and due to the home state quota, I was getting the best possible branch(ECE)with a renowned NIT like NIT JSR in my rank. Home state quota. In NIT JSR in ECE branch opening rank remains nearly 13k and closing rank of 19k. So u have to score equal to or above 98 'percentile' in JEE mains. For taking admission in NITs u have to go through the counselling process handled by joSAA and CSAB. JoSAA councils first in that the preliminary step is the choice filling in which u choose college and branch of your choice maintaining the priority order as per your interest like the more interesting program will be chosen higher in your choice filling order. Then there will be result declaring rounds (6). 2 test rounds are also there before starting the 6 final seat allotment rounds.

I have chosen this course just because coding companies allows the ECE branch also to participate in their placement( was not getting CSE in my rank in NIT JSR). Student boys: girls ratio is about 3:1. Faculties in NITs and IITs are always good, some IIT professors also teach a semester in the Nits Term exams in NIT JSR are on time strictly. Passing is never difficult. Scoring good marks in semester exams is also possible with a 'well maintained' little effort.

Internship companies start hiring from the 3rd year, first, they will take an aptitude test or a coding round depending upon the company then based on that there will be interview rounds. U have to be with some projects to ensure a decent internship.

On campus placement in NIT JSR is one of the best among all the Nits. It comes under rank 10 among 31 nits in terms of placement. U will not need to go off campus placement. A wide range of companies visits NIT JSR, more than 80. The placement scenario is above 90% for cse, ece other branch placements are also above 80%. For cse highest package is 39 LPA, for ece 35 lpa. Plan to be placed as a software developer.

Without including the hostel and the mess fee we are paying. 77575( seventy seven thousand five hundred seventy five) Rs per semester now. When college will be opened we will be paying around 1,04000(1 lakh 4 thousand) per semester. U can get fee remission as per your family income.

There are two fests in NIT jsr per year, URJAA and culfest. Books are available there but bcoz m from the 2020 batch never got a chance to visit the library. For every sport, there is a separate place for that, Sports like cricket, football, basketball, volleyball and many others u can play on separate grounds There is a wide range of clubs in NIT JSR. There are 5-6 technical teams working in fields like a drone, formula racing, remoted small aeroplanes, it is proud to say that these tech teams defeats IITs also in their respective competitions. There is dancing, singing, quizzing, meme club, social activity clubs like NSS, Sankalp helping needy ones. All sports have also their teams here.
