To get enrolled in this stream at nit Jamshedpur. You need to score at least 150+ in JEE mains. After you have secured these marks then you would be called for document verification and you need to upload all required documents.

Course Curriculum Overview

The exams were conducted timely and there were two exams one is midsems and the other is endsems. The quality of faculty is good over here but south students will face difficulty in communication. You need to understand Hindi properly.

Internships Opportunities

In mechanical branch, companies do come for internships and would offer you good stipend but the number of offers is less as compared to the non-core branches. You have to fight for the internship. Bajaj, tata comes for internships.

Placement Experience

The placements of this college are top-notch. Around 90% of the batch is placed for the current year 2021. The average package has been 9.38L per annum. 100% placements were seen in the cse branch and 96% of the students were placed from mechanical.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees structure of the institute per semester is around 108000 including the hostel and mess fees. But on the basis of family income fee remission is provided to the students and finally, the cost reduces down to 3-5L.

Campus Life

The campus life at nit Jamshedpur is a chilled one. There are various clubs and fests organized by the students where people can portray their talent and explore all of it. There is a central library in the college where you can gain knowledge. Sportsgrounds are available for various sports.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel facility is good at nit Jamshedpur especially the mega hostels. The mess food is a normal type neither too bad neither too good. You can have it. On Sundays the food is very good. You will get biryani and ice cream.

Overall Review of NIT Jamshedpur

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

I applied for NIT Raipur NIT Durgapur and NIT prayagraj I selected this college NIT Jamshedpur because it has top class placement and the branch I was getting as mechanical engineering which is a decent branch. I got rejected from NIT prayagraj due to little less rank . The admission process of my colleges you have to qualify JEE mains with around 95 percentile to get any branch as a general student then you have to go for Josaa counselling in which you will be a lot at the seat . I did choose this college because it is quite old and reputed, being a govt college it has lesser fees and offered good placements, I got IIIT Lucknow as well, but didn't opt for it as it was quite new and didn't have proper hostel and residence facilities at that moment.
