NIT Jamshedpur college review

As per my JEE MAINS Score, I was getting branches like chemical, production, and metallurgy in almost every NIT but I chose NIT Jamshedpur because Jamshedpur is my hometown, and also compared to other NITs, NIT Jamshedpur had much better placement stats for the metallurgy branch. I belong to the general category thus no quota. Our's admission process was completely online. After the 6th round of online JOSSA counseling, I took admission to the NIT Jamshedpur metallurgy branch.

According to my marks, I chose this course. Although I was quite disappointed that I didn't get computer science, but it's ok. Faculty members are very knowledgeable and friendly, they always clear our doubts. Almost every faculty has a PhD in their respective fields and every professor has their own way of teaching and it's amazing. Because of the corona, our batch was delayed, so in the first year we had a very hectic schedule and we had exams almost every month sometimes mid seems and sometimes end seems. Difficulty solely depends on the professor some papers are tough, some are easy.

Many companies offer internship opportunities to students, in the year 2020 more than 126 internships offers were made. Companies like Amazon, TATA, Delloite Adani, and many more hired interns from our college.

In the final year, students become eligible for campus placements. In the year 2021 91.6% of students were placed. Total 800+ offers were made and the highest package received was 37.5lpa and the average being 9.38lpa. More than 150 recruiters visited the campus and the top recruiters were TATA, Vedanta, Lowe's, Paytm, Adani, Linde, Ola, and many more. Every branch had more than an 80% placement rate.

If your family income is below 1 lakh per annum then your full tuition fees will be remitted but you will have to pay the mess and hostel fees. If your family income is between 1lakh and 5lakh 2/3rd tuition fees will be remmited but you'll have to pay for mess and hostel, and those whose family income is above 5lakh per annum they'll have to pay full fees + mess + hostel. One can also apply for a loan.

Ojass- Ojass is the annual techno management fest it's a 3 day event where teams from various institutions take part. Quizzes, gaming nights, debate and many other activities are organized. Culfest-Culfest is the annual cultural festival of the college. Competition for dance, singing, beat boxing, street play are organized and the celebrity nights are awesome. Our college has well-maintained labs and libraries. Classrooms are fully furnished. From football to basketball and cricket one can play any game they want.
