Remarks

I initially applied at St. Francis due to its close location to my home and the excellent infrastructure. On visiting the college, I was very impressed by the professionalism of the staff and luckily obtained admission there through my CAP round. The orientation program organized by the college was very informative as well.

Course Curriculum Overview

Despite being a new program, the electrical department caught my interest and I could see that the college was fully prepared to take on the new students with great equipment and staff. Teachers were very knowledgeable about their subjects and gave extra time to their students when required. Exams were conducted smoothly.

Class Size: 69Course Fees: INR 108000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Companies like Gustovalley Technovations, SkillDezire, Adani Electricity, and some more offered internships but only as long as you pay them. Thanks to a friend whose father is employed in the railways, I was provided with an internship at the Virar Carshed.

Placement Experience

Placements began in the 7th semester and so far companies like Zeus learning, Capgemini, TCS, LTI have begun the process. So far the packages are varying from 3-5.5 LPA. I have gotten placed at Zeus learning as a UX designer and plan on pursuing it after obtaining my degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees were reasonable and scholarships were available for students with high CET scores or low economic backgrounds. The faculty also sent regular emails regarding potential internships but hardly any of them offered a stipend.

Campus Life

The social life at SFIT is very active with fests like IRIS and MOSAIC being organized every year. The library has an abundance of books and all amenities are provided. People who are inclined towards sports can showcase their talents in events like IGNITRA. There are several committees that people can join according to their interests.

Placement Experience:

From 7th Sem, students are eligible for placements and undergo placement training. Many companies has visited so far but the big ones are Godrej, BEL, Framatome, etc. The highest package for mechanical was 7.5 LPA and the avg package was around 5 LPA with a majority of job roles as GET. Almost 95% students are placed. I'm preparing for GATE ME for higher studies

SIT is best engineering college of Pune!!

Placement Experience:

If one wants direct placements in comapnies such as Wipro, Cognizant, Hexaware, TCS and many more, SIT is the place. Highest is still unbeatable as one student in 2023 got a paycheck of 50 lakhs per annum from SIT. Even the average is over 10 lakhs now as most students are placed through SIT placements cell.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is also good and it is explained in detail on the college's website and there are labs for the courses which made learning fast and easy. Relevance(industry alignment)->8/10 The curriculum is designed to keep up with the industry needs especially in fast growing fields like computer science, management, design and pharmacy. Updated course such as AI, machine learning, cybersecurity, data science and 3D printing are included for tech students. Industry exposure depends on the students initiative it's not equally strong in every department. Comprehensiveness-> 7.5/10 First year courses focus on building strong basics in science, mathematics and communication skills. Later semesters introduce specialisation, electives, research projectsand soft skill training. The curriculum also includes personality development, entrepreneurship and innovation modules. A few departments could integrate new technologies fatser into the syllabus. Practical v/s theoretical balance: Labs, workshops and real world projects are a core part of the structure, especially in engineering, design, and science programs. SFIT the brave,the bold and the pressured

I entered thru cap round which plays a significant role in course eligibility in prestigious colleges , this college was recommended to me by a long stream of family members and it has lived upto a part of its reputation. I didn't get rejected but SFIT my 3rd most important college as I had to check for other better colleges which i knew i couldn't get in as part of a strategy. Eligibility depends on aspects like college minority and minority eligibility in this case Catholic or Christian need to have 65 plus in percentile of CET .
