Ramakrishna Mission Shilpamandira Kolkata, Polytechnic, Civil Engineering

Reviewed on Sep 4, 2021(Enrolled 2020)

Remarks

. It was in 1954 that Ramakrishna Mission Shilpamandira came into existence as a Polytechnic offering 3 Yr. Diploma in Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and our Alumni is well placed all over the country and abroad. In tune with the changing times the Mission decided to convert the Institute from a government of West Bengal sponsored Polytechnic to a private one from the July 2007-08 session.so I suggest this college .

Course Curriculum Overview

What we need is to study independent of foreign control, different branches of knowledge that is our own and with it the English language and the Western Science. We need Technical Education and all else which may develop industries, so that men, instead of seeking for service may earn enough to provide for themselves and to save something against a rainy day. -- Swami Vivekananda so all of this best.

Class Size: 10Course Fees: INR 1000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The institute provides scholarships to meritorious students on career course. The details are available from the Course Counselor / Co-ordinator. For the session of 2019-20CCA, CCPA, CACPA, CSE Students secured 65% marks in Madhyamik (10th Class) or HS (12th Class) exam from West Bengal Board (80% from other Boards) will be entitled for Scholarship. I know this college CBFA, CAFA Students secured 60% marks in HS (12th Class, Commerce) exam from West Bengal Board (75% from other Boards) will be entitled for ScholarshipCGDP, CBM, CAM Students secured 60% marks in Madhyamik (10th Class ) or HS (12th Class) exam from West Bengal Board (75% from other Boards) will be entitled for Scholarship.i think this is best for all of these.

Campus Life

4.5

: I opted for this course because the field of civil engineering gives you a lot of scope & opportunity in the field of engineering as it is the mother trade of engineering. Our campus is very pleasant to keep calm & make full concentration on our study. At the end of every semester, our college offers a scholarship to top 3 candidates of every stream.

I think this is the best college in this course.

I love overall atmosphere of the college. The mesmerizing playground of the college is still in my heart. The college consists three buildings for teaching different branches of engineering. The buildings includes labs also
The faculty teachers of each branch are one of the prime reasons of college being a superb college. The faculty teachers are well behaved and exceptionally knowledgeable. They teach the students important life lessons along with the engineering topics
The availability of study materials for the students in our college is huge. Our college have a library which stores more than ten thousand of books for different branches of engineering and of different topics, written by renowned writers

Dislikes

Sadly, There are several things that I dislike about our college. Concern related to drinkable water is one of them. The quality of drinkable that comes from storage is not upto the mark.Although two new water purifiers are installed in our college
Secondly, Our college-buildings need a little bit of repairing because the buildings are reasonably old enough to cause damage. Some of the classrooms are really damp and wet. This issue needs to be fixed.
The equipments and machineries installed in our laboratories are a bit old and that's why they don't operate properly. So I think that some of the machineries and equipments need to be replaced for betterment in learning of the students

Placement Experience:

After passing 4th semester L&T, TATA, NIPPON STEEL, JSL, JSW, BRAVO etc Highest package provided is around 8-10 LPA and average package provided is around 4 LPA. Usually and L&T and JSL provides high packages Almost 70-80% of students I'm going to take admission in a BTECH college for persuing Bachelor in Engineering degree

"Navigating Excellence: A Journey Through Academic Rigor and Career Triumphs at Ramakrishna Mission Shilpamandira"

I recently went through the admission process at our college, and I wanted to share my experience with you. The first step is taking the Shilpmandira Admission Test(SAT), which assesses your proficiency in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. This test holds 100 marks in total, with Mathematics carrying 50, Physics 30, & Chemistry 20 marks. To be eligible, you must be an Indian male citizen who has passed or appeared in the Secondary(Madhyamik) Examination of the West Bengal Board or equivalent. A minimum of 50% marks in aggregate with English, Physical Science, and Mathematics as subjects is required, with at least 60% in Physical Science and Mathematics combined. Additionally, the college welcomes JEXPO candidates. The eligibility criteria emphasize the importance of a well-rounded academic background, ensuring that students have a strong foundation in key subjects. The admission process appears challenging, but it sets a standard for academic excellence....Read More
