Jnan Chandra Ghosh Polytechnic, Kolkata Admissions

Candidates are selected on the basis of JEXPO entrance exam for admissions to diploma in engineering while there is another entrance exam for D.Pharm admissions, namely, CET.
The selected students will be called for Counselling where the admission process of the candidates can be ended.

Ans. There are plenty of decent companies who visited JCGP for recruitment. Of the whole list of companies, here are the few: Larsen & Toubro, Frank Ross, Amec Foster Wheeler, Cipla, Shapoorji Pallonji, ITC, Apollo Hospitals, and many more. The highest package offered according to 2019-20 placement data is INR 2.6 LPA while the lowest package offered was INR 0.72 LPA.

Ques. Is there any seat reservation criteria followed by Jnan Chandra Ghosh Polytechnic?

Ans. Yes, JCGP follows seat reservation criteria as per the government norms. 50% of the total seats are reserved for General Category students whereas 27% seats are reserved for other Backward Classes. Also, 15% of the total seats are reserved for Scheduled Castes and 7% for Scheduled Tribes.

Ans. Candidate should be a citizen of India. The lower age limit is 15 for 1st-year admission. For 1st year admission, candidates should have passed/appeared 10th standard exam with Mathematics, English & Physical science, and secured at least 35% marks in aggregate. For lateral entry (2nd year), candidates should have passed/appeared 10+2 exam with science stream with vocational subjects from WBSCVET or passed ITI after class 10th. Well at that time i don't have knowledge about anything not jexpo or wbjee so i cleared wbjee and got Burdhwan engeenering college but instead of i take jcgp cause i was near my home for join this college you need to clear jexpo exam after that cutoff and you'll get your preferable college that you choose depend on your rank

College is very beautiful.There is a pond in campus.very beautiful campus.
Playground is good.There are many trees and the campus is near and clean.
There is big classrooms.so,there is no compromise in teaching.

Dislikes

The colour of buildings that's it.the buildings are too old.

Admission:

There is no other colleges I chose because this is a great college.This college has a great history.I didn't choose any other colleges.By counselling I get admission in this college.The college life is great.

Admission:

My first preference was jcgp, as it was the college my relatives' sob is passed from. I heard the good things as it was the best diploma college for civil Engineering in west bengal. After my admission I didn't think so but it occurred to me after a while. The admission process was pretty simple. We had to appear for joint entrance exam and based on the marks we had to choose the college. But in dire situation of Covid, we got the chance to apply for the college just by showing our higher secondary result. As far as I know any student getting over 55% in higher secondary examination got accepted in diploma in civil engineering. Students can also appear for exams like VOCLET and join the course from 2nd year.

Dislikes

The garbage dump near the college gave out foulest of smell and make it tough to study for the students.

Admission:

The admission in diploma colleges are done through a state based elegibilty test called JEXPO which is conducted by the government of West Bengal.Only after that a student can get admission in Diploma Colleges. After JEXPO I got the opportunity to get admission Jnan Chandra Ghosh Polytechnic College & Acharya Prafulla Chandra Roy Polytechnic College. My reason to choose J.C.Ghosh College was that it is revered as the topmost polytechnic college in the state and as the college was closer to my home making it easier for me to travel to the college. The cut-off for J.C.Ghosh Polytechnic College is very high thus only a handfull of students having a high academic score is only accepted.The cut-off is 6000 for all candidates.

In This clg sports are very poor.. I mean they don't conduct any sports, only if students forced the principal

Admission:

The eligibility of the course is 10th pass and 12th pass. We have to find application form from google internet from West Bengal polytechnic portal, application fees is aprox 500 , the entrance exam is not so hard.

Jnan Chandra Ghosh Polytechnic is a government polytechnic college.To admission you have to clear JEXPO exam.. Madhyamik pass candidates can give this exam.. College's cut off rank is 6000. There is no reservation benefits

Outdoor of this college is not so good , there are many garbages
There are no ac , so students are problem .

I had given the entrance exam of Jexpo and secured and eligible rank to get admission in this college. Anyone can get the application form from the website www.sctvesd.com and all the eligibility criterias and the exam date are provided there. Any kind of student passing class 10 board exams wirh a percentage of 45% can apply for this exam.

The admission process at this college is very simple. I admit here after giving madhyamik and JEXPO-2023 exams. For my admission, I gave photocopies of my personal documents like an adhar card, birth certificate, madhyamik result, health certificate etc.

We have great laboratory for every department and all the instruments are in good condition
Our campus is very big and nature friendly . It is surrounded by trees. It is very neat and clean

Dislikes

Some of the outer areas of our college is dirty

Admission:

To be eligible for this Jexpo Exam which is necessary for joining this course , we must atleast be matric pass with science is our main subject. Application form we can find from the Wbscte or Wbsctvsed website and all other related informations . There are reserved seats for minor community's and physical challenged persons . After the covid period every year the entrance exam is getting postponed resulting in a delay of our semester.

I like the campus as it is very big and nature friendly.
Also liked the atmosphere inside the college .
The seniors are very friendly and helpful and the teachers are very helpful.

Dislikes

The college canteen should also be maintained.
I didn't disliked but the library should be maintained.
