Remarks

Due to the covid -19 situation, our whole counseling process was held online. We were required to pay the admission fees and we all had to upload the required documents like marksheets, scorecards and others. It was a smooth process.

Course Curriculum Overview

Currently, I am pursuing my b.tech degree in mechanical engineering and I chose this college because this is one of the best colleges in India for its core placements. The faculty members are also very supportive and interactive. The examinations were held online and the question papers were difficult.

Class Size: 52Course Fees: INR 108000 per year

Internships Opportunities

There are a lot of companies including the core and noncore ones which comes for internships. Recently for 2nd year and 3rd year D.E Shaw came for internships offering 50k stipend and then Factwise came offering 15k stipend. In addition to that , the whole Tata group comes for core internships.

Placement Experience

The rank of this college is 79 in NIRF so it is underrated because the placements in this college is better than nit Rourkela. If the rankings of placements is considered it comes at 7th or 8th position in placements. For the current batch of 2021 ,92% of students were placed and in mechanical 96.5 % of students were placed. The average package was 9.38L.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure for general students is 108000 per semester including hostel+mess. But almost 50% of the batch avail fee remission on the basis of family annual income and the total cost for 4-year b.tech comes down to 3-4 L in course of 4 years. There are many scholarships available for the sc/st or obc category students.

Campus Life

The campus life here at nit Jamshedpur is chilled. Initially, for first-year students, there are restrictions like you have to be in the hostel rooms upto 8 pm but from the 2nd year, it's manageable. Recently a new academic building has been constructed which is one of the best buildings in any college in India. It is made on a budget of 130 crores.

Overall Review of NIT Jamshedpur

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

I applied for NIT Raipur NIT Durgapur and NIT prayagraj I selected this college NIT Jamshedpur because it has top class placement and the branch I was getting as mechanical engineering which is a decent branch. I got rejected from NIT prayagraj due to little less rank . The admission process of my colleges you have to qualify JEE mains with around 95 percentile to get any branch as a general student then you have to go for Josaa counselling in which you will be a lot at the seat . Detailed review of nit jamshedpur

I did choose this college because it is quite old and reputed, being a govt college it has lesser fees and offered good placements, I got IIIT Lucknow as well, but didn't opt for it as it was quite new and didn't have proper hostel and residence facilities at that moment.
