Nice Placements, nice infra , good coding culture

My parents had expected me to get a high rank in JEE ADVANCED so that I could go to top IITs though I could Pass the cutoff of JEE Advanced the rank wasn't enough to get a high branch and all I could get was , core branches, in mains I had scored well. During JOSSA counselling, I put NIT Jamshedpur as my first preference, in the order CSE>ECE>EEE and in mock round 1 I got CSE, I was too happy after getting my favourite branch but in the second mock, I got ECE. This disheartened me, and during my actual JOSSA counselling round 1, I again got ECE and thinking that I wouldn't get CSE anymore I just locked my seat and was happy. However, when I checked the rankings of round 2 result, I felt devastated, as another EWS girl with a lower rank than my rank had got the CSE EWS female seat, and I couldn't get it because of locking my ECE seat. One can still verify this, as the JOSSA Rankings still show an EWS female candidate with a lower rank in the CSE branch than in ECE. (My rank was 5021(EWS)).

I got ECE by Chance though I could have got CSE, now I feel very happy to be in the ECE branch as the faculties are highly experienced and helpful, faculty student ratio is also proper, most of the faculties are highly educated and have P.hd Degrees in respective domains. Teachers put stress on the interactive environment in the class and ask us to clarify our doubts whenever we want. Semester exams are held timely, question paper level is a bit tough and application based, but with hard work and effort, one can score quite well.

Companies that visit us are - Amazon, Flipkart, Microsoft, Tata, Maruti, Adani, Qualcomm etc. Internships are offered at companies like Juspay, Qualcomm, Amazon. The college provides ample opportunities to get exposed to industry life. The Alumni base is huge and well built.

Students start getting placements from 7Th semester itself, and internships from 5Th semester, Companies like Amazon , TATA, Aditya BIRLA, Ola, Flipkart, Maruti, Adani, Qualcomm etc, visit the campus . This time Highest package was 37.5LPA and the average is above 10LPA, Lowest being around 7LPA. Fees for General/OBC students is around 1 lakh per semester, ST/SC get a waiver and have to pay around 30000 per semester, but economically weaker students can avail fee remission easily by providing income certificate, every semester. Furthermore, there are several scholarship programmes available like ONGC scholarship, TATA scholarship etc., which can be viewed on the college website nitjsr.ac.in. Placement statistics are excellent, better than many new IITs even, and now students are even bagging high paid internships in their pre final year as well.

Fests like CULFEST, OJASS and URJA are well known in entire eastern India, there are two libraries on the campus itself, New academic building has been build recently, annual sports meet is also conducted, several tech and cultural teams prosper in this college namely, Rooh, Aahwan, Rays, etc. All information can be gathered from the website nitjsr.ac.in
