Remarks

I was getting metallurgy in Rourkela but I go for Jamshedpur because of the high placements record of metallurgy here. Till 45000 you can get metallurgy in this college from the general category and if you are from obc you can get till 55000 general rank. The admission process was organized by josaa they charge 25 k and the rest amount you have to give to the college website after seat allotment.

Course Curriculum Overview

The placement record of metallurgy is overall better than the rest nit so I chose it. There is a lot of qualified faculty members ratio not to be precise but 1:8. Exams are conducted at a very good level you have to be attentive in the class to score better, although not too tough.

Internships Opportunities

Tata Steel, Jindal, bajaj, etc big companies give internships with a stipend approx 25000 and above, companies take interviews and then give internships and expect basic practical knowledge. If you are well smart you can get placement in the same company after internships.

Placement Experience

From the 3rd year usually students get internships and from the 4th year, they are eligible for placement, more than 100 companies except google Microsft visit regularly and make a good number of offers. From batch 2017-21 approx 80 percent placed from metallurgy branch and it was highest 95 percent from cse.

Fees and Financial Aid

62.5k is the tuition fee but if your family annual income is less than 5 lac you can get remission up to one-third of tuition fees, if your family income is less than 1 lac you can get complete tuition fee remission.

Campus Life

A lot of fests are conducted annually, like the ojass technical fest, Technica for metallurgy, Urza sports fest, and other cultural fests. There are cricket, football and volleyball basketball ground and court for badminton. There are technical teams run by students like the phoenix which make airplane models, Daksh which make buggy, relevant which makes solar car and other cultural clubs are there.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

Placement Experience:

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

I applied for NIT Raipur NIT Durgapur and NIT prayagraj I selected this college NIT Jamshedpur because it has top class placement and the branch I was getting as mechanical engineering which is a decent branch. I got rejected from NIT prayagraj due to little less rank . The admission process of my colleges you have to qualify JEE mains with around 95 percentile to get any branch as a general student then you have to go for Josaa counselling in which you will be a lot at the seat . I did choose this college because it is quite old and reputed, being a govt college it has lesser fees and offered good placements, I got IIIT Lucknow as well, but didn't opt for it as it was quite new and didn't have proper hostel and residence facilities at that moment.
