MY BME in BVRIT

I have not applied to any other colleges. The major reason for not applying to other colleges is to attend biomedical engineering at BVRIT. I did not avail any quota for admission. The admission process was online and it was clear and simple. Qualifying the entrance EAMCET exam was the admission criteria for admission into the college.

The major reason for choosing this course was, it's an interdisciplinary course between science and engineering. And there are plenty of research opportunities. The faculty: student ratio is 1:10. All the faculty are well qualified with Masters and Doctoral degrees and with very good research and teaching experience. The teaching methods were engaging and encouraging and all the faculty used both traditional blackboard methods and modern technology equipment like computers and projecting screens, which I think is the perfect blend of teaching. There were 4 term exams per semester and properly following the course would make the exams easy to get through.

From the biomedical department, we were offered an internship position in the hospitals allowing us to practically work in the hospital environment, and get to know about the medical technology available and their working, and maintenance procedures. As part of the program, we were allowed to visit a medical college for a practical course on anatomy dissection. We were also allowed to get an internship in ATI-EPI, to get hands on training in cardiac equipment.

All the students were eligible for the placements from the third year of their program and there was a placement cell taking care of the placements. Each department had a placement cell in charge. There were many companies and TCS, Infosys, GE, Amazon, are a few to name visiting the college for PLacements and nearly 400 students are placed each year.

The fee structure was simple, which included college and transportation fees, library and lab fees. There were plenty of opportunities for financial assistance. There were plenty of campus placement opportunities and I got a place in TCS with very good pay.

There was an annual tech fest (Promethane ) and a cultural fest (Zealotz) every year and all the students were encouraged to take part in both the administrative and technical aspects of the fest. The library was complete with all the necessary references and textbooks needed for the course, research journals. There was a digital library comprising the updated research journals, books, complimenting the library. All the classrooms were well equipped with necessary furniture and projecting screens. All the classrooms were fitted with electric lights and fans, and they were well ventilated. The college is comprised of a sports room with all the necessary equipment for playing cricket, football, volleyball, basketball, badminton and there are two large playgrounds, in addition to the basketball court and a badminton court.
