Madhur Gupta's Review On Gautam Buddha University - [GBU], Greater Noida

Gautam Buddha University has its own entrance exam as GPTU and the score is kept private though my rank was 547. I wanted to do Engineering in Computer Science and I got it quite comfortably.

The course curriculum is perfectly designed in all the semesters and the credits in each semester are also kept equal. We have 10 semesters in total each having 5-7 subjects in each semester. As the course is integrated dual degree the students studying in GBU saves one crucial year and completes his/her post graduation in 5 years.

Yes my college provide internship in summer break. The general stipend is minimum 5000/-. People doing internship work for good number of hours and experience is good. Also my college issues permission to do internship outside college premesis.

The fee structure is feasible. For General,OBC-1,39,000(including tuition fee,hostel fee,mess fees). For SC/ST-97,000(including tuition fee,hostel fee,mess fees). Scholarships are offered to those whose parents income is not more than 2 lakhs rupees. A full tuition fee waiver is given to such students.

Gautam Buddha University is one of the biggest campus in India approximately 511 acres in size. The gender ratio is 1:4 for girls and boys in Engineering branches.There are various other courses too in GBU all may having different gender ratio. People here are mostly North Indians and mostly from Delhi-NCR region.

Firstly I filled the form offline by getting it from the admin building of Gautam Buddha University. The exam was scheduled on 4th May 2014 at 10 am till 12 pm. The exam had 100 MCQ type questions each having 1-mark each and with no negative marking. The exam was held at Father Angel School Sector 62 Noida.

In computer science the permanent faculty numbers is low as compared to other branches. Mostly we have Guest Faculties teaching the subjects. But most of the faculties have done PhD and have a good knowledge of the subject. The classes are also held regular and students take interest and the doubts are clarified by the faculty.
