REVIEW OF SRM ENGINEERING COLLEGE

I have chosen to take admission only in the SRM Engineering college because it is one of the oldest and best known centres for higher education in India. It has a legacy of 10 years as a College and is proud to have trained some of the best minds. The eligibility criteria for admission in all the Btech programmes in the SRM Engineering College is that students have to qualify for their 10+2 from a recognised board with a 50% aggregate. Additionally, students must have studied Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry/ Biology/ Biotechnology as the major subjects in 12th. The admission is purely based on the performance in the SRM Joint Engineering Entrance Examination (SRMJEE) conducted by the SRM Engineering College. The candidates are short-listed based on their performance in the entrance examination and will be called for counselling if got selected.

I have chosen this course because Nanotechnology includes the application of skills in computer technology, healthcare, sustainability, etc. Nanotechnology is a rapidly developing field, so by studying this field, students will be able to develop the skills needed to excel and be able to work in one of the fastest growing occupations. The student to faculty ratio of our college is 24:1. Most of our college faculties are well qualified and have a lot of experience in the field of teaching. They have a great teaching methodology and always try to give their best to the students.

Students from the 7th semester and above are eligible for campus placements. The top companies that visit our college during the campus placements are GE Digital, IBM, Google, TATA, Indian Oil, ITC Limited and Reliance. The highest package offered is 41.5 lakhs per annum and the lowest average package offered is 4.07 lakhs per annum. The academic excellence at the SRM Engineering College is reflected in its student's exemplary record in placements in the corporate and engineering sectors. Around 90-93% of the total students who are sitting for placements get placed during the campus placements.

SRM Engineering College provides scholarships up to Rs 1 lakhs to meritorious students based on their academic achievements and potential. The scholarships are provided to the students on the basis of overall aggregate marks obtained by the student in the qualifying exam. To be eligible for availing of these scholarships, students have to maintain their attendance above 75% and must not have any case of interdisciplinary or unfair means.

Our college has spacious amphitheater-style classrooms with integrated audiovisual settings and central AC, specially designed to create an intellectual and comfortable learning environment. SRM Engineering College provides several facilities for sports activities within its premises. There are provisions and equipment for more than 9 different sports. The campus has fields and facilities for several indoor and outdoor games like Cricket, Lawn Tennis, Table Tennis, Basketball Football, Chess, Athletics, Yoga and many more. SRM Engineering College encourages its learners to pursue extra-curricular activities and hobbies in their free time. Many recreational events and competitions are hosted to balance the learning and entertainment quotient of their college life. Moreover, students are allowed to contribute to hostel/college functions by joining any of the groups like Mess Committee, Sports Committee, Maintenance Committee and Cultural Committee.

The hostel room comprises fully furnished comfortable beds, study tables, chairs, inbuilt cupboards, ceiling fans, lights and central AC. These rooms make students feel like they are at home. The hostel also provides clean and hygienic dining facilities separately for male and female students, 24 hours security arrangements with fully trained guards and constant CCTV surveillance to ensure the safety of students. The college aims at offering a qualitative life to everyone residing in the campus hostel. The premises are spacious and well-ventilated to build an optimistic and rejuvenating atmosphere.
