Entrance Preview

EAMCET is the common admission test taken in the state of Telengana (erstwhile Andhra Pradesh) for medical and engineering entrance.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course is very well structured with view of holistic development. The 1st year has all the subjects without focus on differentiation at this stage. Starting 2nd year core subjects are opted for with cross functional aspects coming into picture. Research focus still lacks in all the colleges in the state and mine was no exception to the same.

Internships Opportunities

College did not provide internship when I was studying. However students were encouraged to take up projects in as many subjects as they could. the last semester was primarily dedicated to industry interfacing in terms of completing and project with any organisation.

Placement Experience

4

Campus placement for MGIT was pretty decent while I was passing out. Mostly we saw IT/ ITES majors coming for hiring. Notably among them being Wipro, TCS. We also had a couple of core companies coming onto campus which was a good thing. As mentioned earlier, college was only 6 yrs old when I had joined which might have played into lesser companies coming during final placements.

College Events

4

MGIT was more focused on holistic development of students and hence encouraged them to participate in technical and cultural fests. They even organised a few technical seminars and bought industry experts to give students the view about what to expect. Students were also encourage to go out on their own and organise a seminar for the college if they could.

Fee Structure And Facilities

I got admission through EAMCET as a merit student and hence got a free seat. The pay structure for free seats was far lesser compared to paid seats due to which I could easily afford the same. The paid seats would come at anywhere between 40-50 K and apart from this there was management quota as well.

Fees and Financial Aid

There were a few scholarships offered by MGIT to bright students to make sure that they are encouraging them.

Campus Life

4

Campus life at MGIT was probably the best that an engineering student can think of. There were multiple cultural and technical festivals hosted by college and students which would hone the skills of the students. Considering that CBIT was adjacent to MGIT, students were encourage to participate in the tech/cultural fests from CBIT as well.

Alumni/Alumna

My college was fairly new when I had joined and had been operational for about 6 yrs. Considering that many other batches have passed out post that, the alumni network is pretty strong and diverse.

Exam Structure

The exams were aligned centrally to the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University and followed a fixed pattern. Having said that the exams usually were conducted in a crammed schedule which made it difficult to prepare for all subjects at once. The lab work was properly organised since it was controller internally with external faculty coming in for monitoring purposes only.

Faculty

3.5

Faculty was qualified and interested in teaching the course. Usually the faculty made sure to impart knowledge in a meaningful way to make sure that students understood the same. Faculty was always helpful and willing to spend extra time with students in case they needed more clarification or help them with researching particular topic in detail basis students understanding.

So the placements are good here no worrys too. But the LPA is less a bit like in the past years as the software industry is getting more hard to get jobs.

Placement Experience:

The best part of the college is its placement of the college. Almost all companies visit the campus, including Google, Microsoft, Adobe, and almost all. The average percentage of the college is around 85 percent. In Chemical engineering, the placement is a little bit, it's around 90 percent. I'm planning for placements on the Software side.
