FCRIT, BE, Electrical Engineering
Reviewed on Jul 20, 2021(Enrolled 2017)

Remarks

I applied to many colleges in Mumbai and Pune. Thankfully because of the ex-servicemen quota I got admission into this college. As the cutoffs are always very high for FCRIT, it would have been difficult to get admission. The Admission to the college is on the basis of MHCET marks and also JEE mains. The admission process was simple. I was well guided and the process was fast.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I chose Electrical Engineering as it is a core branch and I was interested in it. The scope of electrical is vast and with increasing pace, in technology, electrical demand will be more. FCRIT is one of the few colleges that provide electrical branches with such great faculties and facilities. There are around 20 faculty members in the Electrical branch and 5 non-teaching staff. Each and every faculty is very well qualified and has many years of experience in the teaching field. The faculty of the electrical branch is best in FCRIT among all the branches. The syllabus is completed well on time with proper understanding, several assignments, and frequent revisions. Sometimes it is difficult to manage 3 tests in a week but one has to clear it otherwise appear for a re-test the next week. Notes provided in the class are enough to clear all the exams so the department makes it easy for studying but timely submission of assignments and practicals is a hectic task but it saves a lot of time during the submission period.

Internships Opportunities

2

Internships are not offered by the college. Students have to search and apply for internships themselves. Bonafide is provided by the college for internship purposes and one has to submit the internship certificate photocopy to the class teacher. However, no off is given or attendance is provided if the student is undergoing an internship.

Placement Experience

3

Students become eligible for placements in the 7th semester. The number of IT companies visiting is quite high as compared to the core companies. The compulsory training for aptitude and the technical tests is arranged by the placement cell but mostly it is up to the student to prepare for the same. The companies in which are batch of Electrical was placed are Tata power, LnT, Torrent power, Godrej and Boyce, Burns and MCD, TCS, Cognizant, Multidimensions, Infosys, build track, etc. The highest package being 6 LPA and the average package is around 3.5 LPA. The profile offered is GET.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees are 1.36 lakh per year for the general category and hostel fees are revised every year. Cost to study includes buying journal sheets and other stationery from college every semester. Scholarships are hard to get however 2 students from each year receive some amount as a scholarship from IEI. College does not help in internships. The internship process is completely up to you right from searching, applying, and getting selected. The placement of the college is fairly good but needs improvement. I got placed in TCS from campus with the package of 3.36 LPA.

Campus Life

3.5

There are two college fest FACES (In the month of August or September). It is the Intra college sports and cultural fest. All three branches compete in all the events to win the final trophy. ETAMAX (In the month of January or February) is the intercollege technical and cultural fest where students from other colleges also participate. Both the fests are completely organized by the student council but are guided by the management and HODs. All the departments have their individual fests as well. There are many other events organized by other councils or clubs in the college like TEDx, Debate, Robotics club, NSS, etc. The library is good with a good amount of books on various topics. The library is open till 11 pm and students can take advantage of it. However the condition of books can be improved. The new building is very well constructed with all the facilities. The classrooms are well lit and airy equipped with a PC, white screen and projector. All the sports are available in the angel sports complex.

Hostel Facilities

4

Accommodation is available on the campus itself. The rooms have beds, study tables, and a cupboard, The boy's hostel gets additional facilities such as table tennis, carrom and TV however girls only have a TV that is also in other buildings with restricted to watching the news only. Wifi is available till 11 pm only in the hostel. Food quality is good as compared to other hostel messes. Both veg and nonveg are served. The timetable for food is made by the food committee from the boys and girls hostel collectively. Hostel registration is quite simple. The fees are revised every year and it includes mess as well. The last fee was 84 thousand for a year in the academic year 2019-2020.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because I have genuine interest in civil engineering. The faculty student ration is 1:50. Our faculties are well qualified they are master's degree holders in design and structural engineering. Some of them are PhD holders and many of them have done their master's from NIT and IIT. Term exams are scheduled after every 2 months. it is easy to pass because it consists of 30 marks only.
