Remarks
The college is improving very much . I am in touch with my juniors, can tell they are doing great. One thing i would say is they should promote more industrial visits, cultural events, knowledge sessions and workshops.
Entrance Preview
So i always had a keen interest in computers since childhood. By seeing computer games, i always thought how these games were developed and it will be so cool if i can able to make these. I was not very good in studies, but destiny bring me to take science maths after my 10th. i also prepared for IIT and AIEEE but couldn't got passed through. I then sat for State PET's and got enough marks (3300) to choose a reputed private college in Rajasthan. I didn't knew much about the colleges at that time, By some Locale's advice, I opted for computer science in RNMEC and various other in Kota and Jaipur, got selected in RNMEC.
Course Curriculum Overview
I had a very great time in college. The college have like 5-6 huge computer labs having 60-80 computers each (mostly working ;P). Each semester there were 3 dedicated computer science course and 3 others like maths, machine drawing, EEC, mechanical, etc. till 3rd year, after that we had 5 dedicated computer science subjects and 1 other to cover all round technologies. 4 practical subjects each semester and 1 industrial training in 6th semester and a final project submission in 8th semester.
Internships Opportunities
I think they provide internship to a very few students (prob. 1 or 2), based on the family background and extra ordinary performance in studies. I don't know the stipend as haven't got any internship there.
Placement Experience
When i started in 2009, there were a recession worldwide, very few companies came that year and next. In 2013 they had 2 placement drives and mega job fairs (open). I got placed in a Jaipur based startup. Now Modi college chains the largest placement colleges in kota.
College Events
Well RNMEC had 6 branches, each branch had 60 students capacity per year, and 4 years degree program that will make this college a campus of more than 1400 students approx. For one we have our own cultural event "Abhivyakti" every year having dancing, singing, speeches, prize distribution, modelling ramp walks, dramas, etc. Apart from that we had a 15 day sports week every year in that 15 days all the events including inter college cricket, football, basketball matches to chess, carom, spellathon, and various other sports activity were performed. Blood donation camps, workshops, motivational speakings happened alot.
Fee Structure And Facilities
From a middle class family, I think the fee structure was quite adequate. I mean as compared to other private colleges, fees are feasible. And also u have to pay the fees semester wise, that too u can pay in installments. What else can one want.? For students who are not sound in money, various organizations are providing scholarships.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions
Not by the college, but I got the minority scholarship provided by state government of Rajasthan. College staff cooperates very well in loan and scholarship fomalities.
Campus Life
Campus life was somehow cool. Gender ratio wise boys are more. canteen is very poor, location is far from city. environment there is very nice, green, they have a basketball court inside the campus. and at the back of the campus, they have a ground which is used for sports activities. Labs are well maintained and well equipped. There were events organized time to time, from blood donation camps to rain dance parties. We also got opportunity to visit other colleges and compete with their students in debates, dance, and science fairs.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel was in the middle of the city, well built. Though its not compulsory to stay in hostel. many students rented rooms there and stayed as PG. I was also living in a PG there so can't tell much about the mess food. But i can tell that the students would've gone for a strike if the mess food was not good.
Alumni/Alumna
yes, we have a group on Facebook. which let us know about the events happening in the college as well as job opportunities out there, and events/ gatherings in various places.
Exam Structure
Well the examination structure was and still is decided by the Rajasthan Technical University, kota. According to that, a degree of 4 years containing 8 semesters. Each semester will have 6 theory subjects and 4 practical labs. 2 internal mid term 1 hour tests which hold 10 marks each that will be sent through college. the main theory papers holds 80 marks 3 hpurs. examination centers were allotted for final semester examinations. Practical examination holds 40 marks each performed by a practical test followed by a VIVA (oral test). Result declaration was about a year after the examination which was pretty pissing off.
Admission
The admission process started from the university. You have to pay 10K advance draft to the Rajasthan Technical University to sit in the counselling. I got a call from the college that you have been selected for the admission in our college. I visited there and they had a team to handle the admission which guided me through the whole process. how much amount i have to pay, what will be the installment period, college timings, syllabus, brochure, they provided. I paid first semester fees minus 10k I already paid to the university and my admission was done.
Faculty
The teachers are very friendly and helpful. Often they threat us that our marks will be deducted if attendance will not fulfilled, but it never happened, they are very kind, some lecturers had working experience in software company whose guidance was very helpful.
