Entrance Preview

I had applied under punjab common entrance test in which i scored 6000 rank, i had a keen interest and read lot of about civil engineering, so when i got to know that civil engineering is also one of the courses offered in the college, so i opted for this.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course structure for the civil engineering is well defined and well planned , in which as a beginners we studied the applied subject in 1st year and after word in 2nd, 3rd and 4th year the subjects were schemed according to beginner level to pro one.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, different types of companies came every year for the different courses offered, many companies like Hcl , Practo, L&T etc . Minimum stipend offered is 5000 for the freshers.

Placement Experience

The placement and job opportunities in the college is very much likely, as many of the students were placed every year , L&T , practo, Hcl, HDFC, etc. , they offer minimum 2,50,000 and maximum of 8,00,000. Around 100 of students were placed every year.

College Events

Number of events were celebrated in the college, annual festivals , cultural events as well as technical events . The Cultural events in our college names Tarranum, Athletic meet etc. and technical events were every by the respective departments. The technical events which was celebrated by the civil engineering department is sanrachna and also Aces.

Hostel Facilities

There are hostel present both for boys and girls in the college campus. The boys hostel were 5 in number and girls are 2 in number . The boys hostel is having 60 rooms each, also on sharing bases and individual rooms also.

External Expense: Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna

There is huge network of alumni as well the senior students were so helpful if we want any type of help regarding studies , or any other type of help we want. The alumni meet also has been scheduled so that old students gather share their success stories as well as motivate the students.

Admission

I got the admission in this institute by applying the manual counselling for notification was released in the mid august, in which i procured the admission form from the academics department and submitted my form and on the day of counselling i attended it, and i got the admission in civil engineering which i want to opt for.

Faculty

The faculty of the college in every department is well qualified and well experienced. In civil engineering 12 faculty members were there , in which 6 faculty members had done Ph.d and 6 were M.tech qualified. All faculty members were quite interested to teach the students.

Likes

supportive campus environment with the comfortable in the classess
faculty most faculty members are very much supportive and they guide the students in the right way only
events are there in the campus provided by the campus.

Dislikes

limited practical exposure is provided by the campus and also there should be more hand on international events

placements at my college are very very good, as everybody gets the chance to sit for the placements at the same level. we get the placement oportunities at the 6th semster also. in my brancg it is very good

A Vibrant Campus with good learning and great opportunities

Likes

good infrastructure , large libraries and practical labs
helpful and large opportunities in campus

Dislikes

class size can be large , it helps every child to interact
academic work is quite high , the schedule may feel hectic especially during examination

The curriculum is relevant and covers core cse subjects like programing DSA and DBMS . it provides good fundamental for placements and further studies , more practical projects and industry based teaching would improve it .

75 percent attendance policy for classes
Very high fees compared to other colleges

Placement Experience:

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

There are 1 AC Lecture complex()LT with almost a seating capacity of 100-120 students, with smart screens and projector.
NITJ has well maintained 4 Girls hostel and 4-5 boys hostels with proper cleanliness and hostel staff.
They are 7 cafeterias in the Campus, including 3 Nescafe outlets,1 dominos and 3 regular canteens that serve food late night.

Dislikes

Wifi and connection issues in the hostels
Slow response to emails and late approval to applications
The ICE department faculty is quite strict. Tough grading system and administration.

Placement Experience:

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

I like the most about the college the placement criteria and the way built your confidence
Also the hostel is very good and provide food 4 times
The campus explorer is also very nice according to me

Faculty is not soo well had a lit bit inconvenience
Hostel mess food is not good at some time

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Likes

The campus is very green and clean. Infrastructure is good and one can feel fresh air here in campus
The faculty is excellent, almost all of the professors and assistant professors have a degree from renowned institutes. So they know their subject and field very well.
Hostels are good and affordable. Although the hostels itself are old, services are good and you get a nice room for the price/rent

Dislikes

The crowd isn't good. Always demotivated to do anything productive regarding studies. Some people are just here for time-pass
Very less site and outdoor visits. For practical experience, they should conduct industrial visits, but that happens rarely
Placements are really Dry and there is decline in company visits for placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

I didn't apply for other colleges. I chose this college as it was near my hometown and there were circumstances which prevented me from going too far from home. That's why, I chose this college. The admission process is simple. You need to have passed your senior secondary education in any central and state board. Exams accepted are JEE Mains and Board examinations. Most of the admissions here are based on counselling sessions, even after that, there is option of direct admission. Admission is quick and can be done by student himself also. Best placement college in Punjab

60% percentage is needed in PCM course in the senior secondary or in diploma course from any Institute or university. Application form is available online in the university website only.
