Remarks

The admission process of the AMU Department of business studies and research was quite clear and transparent. There was a written exam that constituted general awareness, logical reasoning, data analysis, verbal English, quantitative methods, mathematical puzzles. The examination paper had 100 objective questions with rewarding 1 mark for right and negative 0.25 for the wrong answer. The short-listed students then displayed on the website list are called for interview/GD. The interview took 5-10 minutes overall while GD took 15-20 minutes. After a few days, the final selected list is displayed and those who were interested finalized their preferences and paid the annual fee altogether along with 1 month of hostel fee if the hostel was applied. After the first month, the hostel fees are a monthly expense rather than an annual charge.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose this course in order to be able to understand the technical as well as managerial complexities in a business as well as machinery. The competition level in the country is increasing day and night and one has to be a step ahead of the crowd. The student-faculty ratio is quite good as compared to various other institutes in the country. On average(according to the official website) every year there are 30,000 students and around 3000 teachers in the university. In the department of business management and research, there are 10 teachers allotted to 120 students in the first semester. The faculty is quite qualified and experienced as they have themselves studied or taught in prestigious IIM's and qualified various central examinations to acquire a position in a central university. Almost all the faculty members have experience of 12-20 years in teaching. Exams gave ample amount of time for preparation and stability. The syllabus could be said to be quite good. Passing was not a tough task.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

A lot of internship opportunities are available to the students. For example iFortis internship as corporate ambassador/sales and marketing, a stipend of 2000 and 1-month duration. Clink services-HR/BD with a stipend of 20k per month. A lot of internship opportunities are available in the department with various offers duration and profiles.

Placement Experience

3.5

The campus placement is good in AMU. Students become eligible after 3rd semester for placements. Tata, amazon, Larson and tubro, wipro, ctc, htc etc. The highest package of 2019 was 10 LPA and minimum was 3 LPA. An average of 4.8 LPA is seen according to official website. Around 50-60% students opt for campus placements. Companies from middle east also arrive at amu for hiring. I planned to prepare for ssc along with my MBA in Amu as there is facility of library and wifi and hostel room available to almost all the students every year in MBA. But the plan is not in action due to the pandemic but the degree is not atopling as online classes are going on.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure has changed in the last 5-6 years to an incremental type. The annual charge is just shy of 20,000 rs excluding the hostel's monthly varying charge of 1000rs-1200rs. Overall an annual 30,000-35,000rs would cost a student for a year in AMU MBA. There are several scholarships provided to the students. The central scholarship by the government is known as well as state government scholarship. The alumni chose 2 students in the first month itself on an interview and financial condition basis to finance the 2-year course. There are a couple of other alumni-sponsored scholarship programs as well. Last year's highest package on campus was 10LPA and an average package of 4.8 LPA was calculated. The majority of the students took college placements and quite quantity did not as well.

Campus Life

5

AMU literary festival is organized by University debating and literary club (UDLC). It is held in the months of Feb or march. Chief guests are invited like Swara Bhaskar, Aditi Rao, Rajdeep Sardesai and many more. AMU ASCE (American society of civil engineers) was formed in AMU in 2014. Its aim is to facilitate the advancement of technology. The Maulana Azad library is the biggest university library in Asia. Has almost all the books required by any student coming from any field of course. Sports and extracurricular activities are promoted on campus. Annual athletics and various sports competitions are held. Interschool and intraschool competitions are held annually. Sports like basketball, cricket, hockey, football, volleyball, etc are arranged. Athletics include various types of races, hurdles, long jump, high jump, shot put, javelin, etc. There are various student's clubs in AMU- Film club, robo club, red ribbon club, amu zhcet collegiate club, riding club, skating club, drama club etc

Interview Experience

3.5

The GD conducted as usual. A group of 8 students was seated and a topic was picked from a bowl of several slips. The topic for our group was- 'Should girls be dressed modestly to prevent harassment. 2 minutes time was given to write points and after the discussion, 2 minutes time was given each to conclude. The written exam had several quota observing students too. Like disability, sc/st/obc, sportsman, child of alumni, children of defense forces, etc. After the exam lists of selected students were displayed for interview and GD. Prepared for the written examination from my own books I got to prepare for my MAT exam. Prepared for the GD and interview with my coaching teacher. The questions in the interview were majorly from the bachelor's course which we passed. Prepare the basics of the bachelor's course thoroughly.

Placement Experience:

Firstly speaking, no college can provide you placement. If you don't have that capability to catch that placement. Yes, majorly most of the students got placement. The highest placement which I have seen from my eyes was eight LPA, which was quite good if we see from starting if a new B is coming and he's got eight LPA, then it's really good, and yes, this college promises you that it will provide you placement, but the only condition is that you should be well-behaved and obey all the rules and regulations of this college. If you don't have that capability, you yourself can't do it. Yes, every year companies like Wipro companies like Amazon company companies like Flipkrt comes in this college and takes many of the students.
