Course Curriculum Overview
Masters in social work could be seen as a course with a very pragmatic and designed infusion of both academics as well as ground level professional experiences. Course is design in such a way that the learning focused on thinking more out of the box for most of the severe issue in our society existing today.
Internships Opportunities
Internship is a part of the curriculum in most of the masters courses. For Masters in social work, internship is compulsory in which u have to be on the field for two days of the week and its unpaid. Though its just for first year. In second year students need to go for block placement in different part of the country for two months.
Placement Experience
Different courses have different placement offers. For courses like HRM and Labour relations you can get whooping amount of 20-22 lakh per annum on average. In other courses like MSW you have multiple options, you can go for various NGO through central placement cell in which you can easily get the package of 5-6 lakh per annum. You can also opt for various PSUs which pill pay you 6-7 lakh per annum.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fees is pretty much decent here for masters in social work the average fees(excluding food and hostel) is about 66000 for 1st year. In second year every student would get hostels and for that the fee will 1.2 lakh per year(including food, electricity, stay everything). Though there are ongoing discussion between the administration and student union regarding the hike in fee.
Fees and Financial Aid
There exist a kind of student aid provided through various agencies. First is GOI post metric scholarship, which funded the whole degree including all expenses(tuition fee, hostel and food), though it is just for a particular class and cast. Apart from this TISS also have its independent budget for providing student aid to the students who came from a economically backward background.

They have a official alumni network called TISAA india. It help students in finding proper avenues and information regarding the job availability or other ongoing project, workshop and seminar going around.
