My Life at OPJS University

My university is a private university and is recognised by AICTE and UGC. It is also a member of Association of Indian Universities. Further, the placement rate is 80-90% every year along with the highest package of 10 LPA for MBA students. Also, the course fee is just 1.12 lakhs which is low as compared to other private colleges in the city and quite affordable as well. So, these were the reasons due to which I made up my mind to get into this college anyhow. So, the steps I followed to take admission to this college was filling up the application form first of all in which I infilled all the basic and educational details and submitted. Furthermore, my score of 10th, 12th, undergraduate, and CAT was considered for admission. In the end, admission offer letter was dispatched to the registered address of mine.

The MBA program at OPJS University is spread over 4 semesters and there are core courses as well as elective courses taught in this program. So, the courses include business environment, managerial economics, managerial accounting, finance management, marketing management, consumer behaviour, business legislation, advertising management, and many more. In addition to this, summer internship, projects, industrial visit is a part of course curriculum. Furthermore, most of the faculty members hold PhD or equivalent degree from leading Institutions across the country. They use advance technique and methods to impart conceptual or practical knowledge in an easy way. Through case studies and best examples they try to make us understand and clear our basic concepts. Also, they are too co-operative as they help in pre-placement talks, help in enhancing skills and other required things in the corporate sector.

The top recruiters that visit our college for on-campus placement are Aditya Birla Group, Bajaj Allianz, HCL, Deloitte, Bank of America, Berger, Google, Vodafone, and many others. Almost 80% seniors of our department got placed last year in on-campus placement whereas, the rest were placed off campus. However, the highest package offered previous year was 8 LPA. On the other hand, the average package reached 3.5 LPA. Now, since the placement cell helps in bridging the gap between the students and the employers, they also focus on maintaing the placement record and so, once they invite the recruiters and all the process like job description, profile details, eligibility criteria and other details are sent to the placement cell, they organise pre-placement talks in order to enhance soft skills, analytical skills, personality development, to get placed in one go.Lastly, after completing masters from this University, if I get a job I will continue working and gain experience first off.

Since I opted for MBA program, the course fee is 28 thousand for each semester and that for 2 years, the total fee I paid 1.12 lakhs including tuition fee, registration fee, and examination fee. In addition to this, I paid extra amount for accommodation and fooding. Despite such low fees, our college also has provision of scholarships and those are entrance based who crack the entrance test and are in top 10 get 50% tuition fee waiver. Also, merit based scholarship is available in which top 10 in the course examination get 10 thousands. However, instead of these many scholarship schemes, I didn't get any.

Apart from conducting numerous events year- round, so many campus facilities are provided to us. So before I share the name of the events herein, I am going to mention the facilities first. So, our college campus has library, auditorium, seminar halls, modern classrooms with good seating capacity, hi-tech computer labs, WiFi campus, hostel, campus clinic, cafeterias, sports facilities for both Indoor and outdoor games and sports. Further, the events those are conducted here include convocation ceremony, fresher's day, farewell function, foundation day celebration, annual function, cultural fest, sports tournament, seminars, conferences, and others. And all because of so many events that take place and facilities we are endowed with, my campus life has been dynamic and happening.
