Remarks

Ranking and the MBA degree were the biggest factors that resulted in me choosing this institute. The campus was a huge addition, however the pandemic ruined it all. The pandemic has changed the game and insensitivity to the larger environment is a large issue here like any other college. However, mental health is recognised pretty well and there are processes to access experts to help you out. Quora and my peers helped me choose this massively. Moreover, the fact that SIMC guarantees a decent bourgeoisie life is incentive enough.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

Faculty student ration is really good and the college by far has the most updated curriculum possible in this field. The standards set are international, however there were a few loopholes this year mostly due to the pandemic. Work pressure is high but every assignment feels like a creative output. Exams are easy and the focus is mainly on what's learnt than what's memorised.

Internships Opportunities

5

Internship opportunities drastically reduced as the media industry was hit hard during the first wave. However, the Placement Cell made sure the process continued and students were placed. Organisations which came were creative agencies, branding agencies, market research firms, media corporates and other corporates etc. I got my internship at JioSaavn. Besides a full fledged two month internship, project internships with leading agencies keep coming and it is on the individual to make good use of them.

Placement Experience

4.5

Really worried about the placement scenario. Got a good internship at JioSaavn. Looking forward to working there, even though it'll be virtual. The Placement Cell exists to bring in companies till the time the last student is placed, and they do the best they can in that. More power and respect to the Placement Cell to do this in such a situation. However, if the pandemic continues, do not expect too many high paying options your way. The start is going to be very bumpy, but you'll have a start for sure.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The course is a bit on the higher side and all of it feels really unjustified when one has to attend almost the entire course sitting at home. A lot many financial services, even though available, where also unclear owing to the havoc in communication caused by the pandemic.

Campus Life

4.5

No idea. Virtual semesters. Clubs are there but the functioning was limited to the bare minimum, for the greater good. Campus life meant Zoom, which people got tired of after a while. Everybody has personal lives, there's nothing called a campus life when doing a virtual degree.

Hostel Facilities

5

Again, no idea. I also feel that these questions should be updated since most students are attending classes online. These questions not only draw blank answers from us but also evoke immense pain. Also, I don't know what to write anymore to cover 200 characters. Feels like an assignment at this point.
