Parbani Sinha's Review On Sinhgad Academy Of Engineering - [SAE] Kondhawa, Pune

I took JEE main. And my admission took place through DTE, Maharashtra. DTE gives all students a composite score which is formulated by adding the 60 percentile of jee score and 40 percentile of board exam score. My score was 60. And in CAP round 1 , i got selected in SAE, Kondhwa (E&Tc branch). I opted for this college as i had heard and saw good reviews about sinhgad.

Research wise our college gives a lot of opportunities. Depending on different branches, in my branch (E&Tc) we have scope of research on subjects like VLSI, embedded systems, control systems, coding like python, java etc. Teachers encourage us to take part in various research activities.

College does not provide internship opportunities , though we can do internship through internshala and from outside. One scholarship opportunity for overseas study in college of south africa. The college there is linked to the head branch of sinhgad.

One of the best campus recruitment. We have more than 25+ MNCs coming in for recruitment. These have some big names like Cognizant, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, L&T, Accenture and many more. The average package offered was 3.25 lpa. The college provides direct placement opportunity to the engineering students. 85% percent of the eligible students got placed. Criteria is 60% and above.

The fees is quite feasible for higher middle class people of the society. College fees per year is Rs 98,000/-. For SC cast fees is about Rs 17000 per year which is higher than other college. You want to join college hostel then you would have to pay extra 50000 for that. It includes food and room in hostel for a year.

Scholarship options are available for students holding EBC. 30% students get scholarships. Loan facility is available through canara bank inside the college campus.

Campus Life is really good. College has many sports grounds available on campus for the students if they want to play any sport.college has a separate lawn tennis court, basketball area, Cricket and football grounds. There were robotics competition but not that frequent. Students used to organise themselves rather than college doing it.

Exam structure is semester pattern. There are two semesters in a year. Exam structure is not so hectic. In first year you have 2 25 marks MCQ exams and one final 50 marks exam in the last during 6 months (1 semester). Same goes for 2nd year. From third year there is 30 marks theory during semester and 70 marks theory at the end of the semester.

I got admission through DTE. There are 3 CAP rounds. In every cap round we had to give 100 choices of college name and branch, preference wise. The score they considered was the composite score. I got selected in 1st round in this college. We just had to bring the necessary documents needed for admission.

The faculty for Information Technology and Computers is really good. A lot of experienced professors teach here. However, there are always a few ‘incompetent’ ones, and the students say that a few professors aren’t very good at their communication skills. But overall the situation is quite good.
