Best Engineering College in Belgaum

CET - Karnataka state, Gogte Institute of Technology is far by the best engineering college in Belgaum. It has required infrastructure and management is supportive of bringing in new initiatives that help the growth of students in any possible way. The faculty is well qualified and have a great placement cell.

The courses are great for the CS department. But I would suggest they have more practical sessions so that the students get exposed to the day to day life scenarios of applying any theoretical concept. apart from that I think rest of the aspects are definitely great. The courses at par with the current IT standards. They night want to add some more programming languages.

As per my experience, no college in India provides internships so does not Gogte Institute of Technology. I have not tried but I do not think they have that opportunity for students.

Placements are great. They list of companies hiring has been changing every year and has been diverse. But every year CS department has 95% placement before graduating. A lot of the IT gaints like TCS, Infosys, Oracle, Mercedes Benz have been visiting the college. The alumni of the college is trying hard to get some other new companies like Facebook, Google, Microsoft. Together the alumnus and the college placement cell is doing a great job in providing students with placements opportunities. There are some training sessions as well for students who do not feel confident of the interview process.

Right now no financial assistance is given to the students as loans/ scholarships. I think the alumnus of the college are trying to set up something like a scholarship or a need based fund to encourage students to try and innovate new things, attend various conferences.

The campus life is good but right now the boys hostel accommodates only the first year students. This could be extended to included students of all years. The labs are great and have latest equipments. The college is into all types of curricular activities.

The Exam structure is wholelly the one Visvesvaraya Technological University follows. Though the college has become autonomous all the branches have not become and are slowly heading towards it. The final exams are held by Visvesvaraya Technological University. There are 3 to 4 tests before the finals called internals which also have in impact in the final score along with the final exams.

Faculty is great, interested in their profession, do their job with great enthusiasm and passion. The faculty is given a choice to teach any subject they would like to for a given semester and this saves them from feeling monotonous with the same subject again and again. The faculty is given improvements trainings as well from seniors to ensure they deliver quality to the students.
