Entrance Preview

I took MHT-CET to get into St. Francis Institute Of Technology (SFIT). My score was 90 out of 200 decent score considering results were very low during my times. I enquired lot about SFIT with former students and found out that it was a good college with very strict attendance policy. The professors had a good experience and willing to help when required. And that's when I decided to choose this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

My course had 8 semesters, 2 per year. Course curriculum was very versatile and interesting. There were 40 subjects in total 8 semesters Some of the programming languages which I learned during this year of my B.E where Java, C++ and C.

Internships Opportunities

To my knowledge, there are no internship programs held in college. But during my third year India Internet Pvt. Ltd., India had given its application for beta testing. And later many other companies followed, so students got some kind of exposure to testing application. They paid around 1000 INR for each bug found in their application.

Placement Experience

4.5

We had top companies like TCS, Capgemini, Accenture come in for recruitment. TCS recruited around 85 students and gave package around 3.20 lacs P.A. While Capgemini recruited around 90 students and paid approx 3.15 lacs P.A. Other small companies came up for recruitment and paid between 2.40 lacs to 3.75 lacs package.

College Events

4.5

SFIT organised had lot of events. IRIS was main event where in all students from other colleges where able to participate in various sports and technical events. Robocon was one such technical event where students had to develop their own model of robot and present before the committee.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The SFIT is less expensive as compared to other colleges in the area. In the start of my first year, I had to pay 72,000 INR with no other charges. The fee increased by 10% every year. In the second year, I paid around 80,000 INR. In the third year the fee was about 87,120 INR and during my last year, I paid around 96,000 INR.

Fees and Financial Aid

No to my knowledge there is no scholarship provided in SFIT for students with financial problems. Only the student who tops from each branch has his fee refunded .i.e only 3 students from 3 branch receive scholarship every semester.

Campus Life

4

Gender ratios are approximately 1:1 Males to Females. Workshops were very frequently conducted with wide scope of topics and cultural societies/clubs were diverse. Tolerance level was good in SFIT as we had students from all walks of life, belonging to different communities castes, demographics and yet there was no bias.

Admission

St Francis is minority college and has some seats reserved for catholic students. I had to collect an application form from the college and submit it before 05th June. In mid-June, all minority students were called and seated according to their score and were called one by one to select their streams of interest. And on the same day, my admission was confirmed in SFIT.

Faculty

4

Most of the faculty has detailed knowledge about the subjects and are willing to go an extra mile to help the students in understanding the subjects by comparing the classroom concepts with a real-world example. Though there are few faculty who have their lecture's very boring and have limited knowledge. Most of the faculty are Ph.D or pursuing Ph.D.

Placement Experience:

The campus placement is decent in the college as compare to other colleges of the city . many companies visited the college every year to hire the skillful engineers from the college and offer them a good amount of package. The option of the offcampus palcement is also there for the students of the other colleges.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Soo ever since kid i was interested in bikes this interest was all for me to take this course , my father is very bike enthusiast and it came down to me , i could easily take mechanical and other engineering cause these are common courses which involves automobile , but since i wanted to follow my passion , i wanted to do specialization in automobile itself and DPCOE was offering this course with great facilities and knowledge providing us a path in this lane of career in this field. According to me curriculum prepares us quite well as they conduct workshop which are relevant to outside world where we'll be working. If there were more practical workshops for us to work on would be great cause automobile engineering is all about practicals rather than theoroticals Professor should try teaching in physical part rather than taking lectures and explaining the concept by just words

Placement Experience:

Yes there is placement cell of STES which is no different than other tier 3 engineering colleges offering a tier 3 average package depending on who is the recruiter. Students become eligible for campus from 3rd year of their degree. Highest package is something around 55 lakhs offered to a computer engineering student, and average is just like I said for a tier 3 college 5-6 lakhs(above or below). Almost everyone gets placed in the company but some might not.
