Entrance Preview

Prior to B.E. I did diploma in EXTC from VESP,Chembur so got direct second year admission in Sakec by applying on merit. Admission process was smooth. Fees are high, it's everywhere high though for engineering. I had researched for many colleges, but since Sakec was near to my home I chose it, also it ranked well.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Since it is affiliated to University of Mumbai, it doesn't have any autonomous course. Though it was very good. Many good opportunities for projects during the last two years. Good course structure, making sure every student faces everything and does well.

Internships Opportunities

As far as I know, I don't think and have seen people doing internship in the college. On a serious note, they should start allowing interns to participate in the college. Stipends are hardly given to college interns.

Placement Experience

3.5

Overall placements are good. On an average 3 Lpa package is offered to the students. Companies like L&T Infotech, TCS, Tech Mahindra, Amdocs, Diebold, Maritime, Quality Kiosk, etc come for picking up students. Mostly all opting for jobs are placed, rather they focus to place all students somewhere or the other, half of the students opt for higher studies. Only thing bothering students is that they can apply only for one company.

College Events

4

Festivals are celebrated grand here. There's a annual fest Verve where you enjoy like hell. There's a music fest called Acoustics. There's rigorous m robotics events too. I don't remember the names of all. There's MUN fest. There's sports fest Olympus. Overall very good fests-technical as well as fun. Students enjoy there extra curricular activities here.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees structure of engineering is bad everywhere. Reserved students enjoy there freeship / scholarships. It started with around 80k for me then increased with 5-10k every year. There's a unnecessary restriction on students buying cheap stationary from outside, they are forced to buy double expensive from college itself, which is pathetic. Overall fees manageable for upper middle class.

Fees and Financial Aid

Didn't apply for any loan, so no idea. However there's a Canara Bank branch upturned within the college itself which might be helpful. Scholarship and fresship are/were provided to reserved students. Students can apply for some private trusts scholarships from outside.

Campus Life

4

Campus life is good. Excellent infrastructure. Decent gender ratio, boys are more. Good diversity and students respect each other. There's no discrimination on fields of gender, religion, wealth, etc. Labs as already mentioned are excellent. Sports are conducted well, there's a ground adjacent to the college. Robotics fests are common and students participate interestingly.

Alumni/Alumna

They have recently started Alumni meets. Students get chance to get interact with the seniors and enquire about anything they want. Hope so they are focused on how students can interact more often with previous pass-outs.

Exam Structure

The Labs here are very good, people from other colleges used to come here for practicals. Exams structure is also good, not hectic at all. Students do score well n learn well here. Practicals are really demonstrative and helpful. Thanks to the admin.

Admission

I did a lot of research before applying through CAP(DTE), after completing my diploma. I shortlisted 20 good colleges for my 1st CAP. Sakec was on number 17th. So as per my merit I got this college. Admission process was smooth, no hassles. Since the fees are so high, they manage it well. Administration was also good, treating all effectively.

Faculty

4

Faculty is the most important factor along with placements, which proves how effective is the college for the students. Faculty members of this college are really good, especially for electronics branch (at least during my college tenure). Few of the faculty members are so serious about teaching that they really focus on turning up students to score well, continuous analyzing the results.

The campus placement is decent in the college as compare to other colleges of the city . many companies visited the college every year to hire the skillful engineers from the college and offer them a good amount of package. The option of the offcampus palcement is also there for the students of the other colleges.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Soo ever since kid i was interested in bikes this interest was all for me to take this course , my father is very bike enthusiast and it came down to me , i could easily take mechanical and other engineering cause these are common courses which involves automobile , but since i wanted to follow my passion , i wanted to do specialization in automobile itself and DPCOE was offering this course with great facilities and knowledge providing us a path in this lane of career in this field. According to me curriculum prepares us quite well as they conduct workshop which are relevant to outside world where we'll be working. If there were more practical workshops for us to work on would be great cause automobile engineering is all about practicals rather than theoroticals Professor should try teaching in physical part rather than taking lectures and explaining the concept by just words

Yes there is placement cell of STES which is no different than other tier 3 engineering colleges offering a tier 3 average package depending on who is the recruiter. Students become eligible for campus from 3rd year of their degree. Highest package is something around 55 lakhs offered to a computer engineering student, and average is just like I said for a tier 3 college 5-6 lakhs(above or below). Almost everyone gets placed in the company but some might not.
