Entrance Preview
I wrote MPPET exam and got 116 marks out of 200. My score was not that good to get the best govt colleges but I was lucky enough that UIT RGPV became an autonomous university in 2010. My cousin was studying in the same college and he suggested me to take admission as it is a government college.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course was of 4 years with a mini project in 4th year. UIT RGPV has the best labs for electrical engineering. There was not much focus on research but if any student wants to,faculty provides full support. There are huge labs to practice and all the instruments to learn and practice technology. However the syllabus is not updated.
Internships Opportunities
College does not provide any internship but there is a mandatory Minor training in 3rd year and Major training in 4th year which we have to seach and get trained. I completed my training in BHEL and Indian Railways for 1 month to get the practical knowledge of electrical engineering.M.tech students get stipend upto 8000.
Placement Experience
Although from the point of view of academics, its an average college but placement is very good.At my time there were so many companies coming like TCS, INFOSYS, Capegemini, bajaj electricals, Flor Daniel, Trident,Indian Army, wipro and many more companies and 70% of the students were placed in 3rd year itself.
College Events
Cultural Activities were very less in my college. But we organised an annual fest and also technical fest. Also techno rangoli, quizzes and treasure hunt kind of activities organised by students. Also our President Mr. Pranabh Mukherjee once visited our college and many events were organised at that time.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure is very feasible. College fees is very less around 30,000/- per year including bus fees. It is very much affordable and also special privileges and schemes are provided for financially weak students. We can submit fees in two installments. Also exam fee before final exam is mandatory. There is a huge library so books are issued for students.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes, i think there is a huge discount in fees for girls students. Also its a govt technical university so all the scholarship schemes but govt of India are applicated here.
Campus Life
There is good number of both boys and girls in the college. Extra curricular activities depends on the students to take initiative and organise like inter college cricket, girls cricket, holi and many other events. Workshops are organised and student forms a placement group,a cultural societies. However there was not much of an extracurricular activities at my time.
Hostel Facilities
I stayed in a private hostel instead of college hostel as college is in outskirts of city and food was not good in hostel so I preferred staying in the city and travelling to college in college bus.Hostel seats are very less so I stayed in Indrapuri area in bhopal. There are many hostels and pgs in Indrapuri and MP Nagar.
Admission
In 2014, after the entrance exam results were out,we had to submit a list of colleges we wanted to get into along with the branch for online counselling.I submitted a list of colleges keeping my first preference at the top. After few days, results were out and I was given UIT RGPV. There was also an option to upgrade your branch and college and second counselling but I did not opt for that.
Faculty
As it is a government college, all the faculty members are highly qualified with PHD and M.Tech degrees. They have a lot of knowledge. They take regular classes to complete the syllabus on time and labs to practice. However students are on bunks and GTs most of the time in 3th 4th year preparing for placement and other exams, classes are not regular in final year.
