Remarks

The management was very helpful and we definitely would like to thank our faculty for the support that they provided in SIESCOMS.

Entrance Preview

I took the CET which was happened for BMS. I was the first batch of the newly introduced BMS course in 1999. I had the 45th rank in the entrance and choose SIES for its teaching its familial environment.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum replicated nearly what was being taught in the Post graduate management course the curriculum for us very well designed and included the right mix of practical exposure to concepts through experiential learning and theory classes.

Internships Opportunities

The internship was optional during the semester breaks but was compulsory during the seventh semester, where we had to submit a live project on topic with a guide and which also led to the assessment through a project interview.

Placement Experience

3.5

The placements option was not much at that point of time as this was the first year of the course, however students did get placed in financial, pharmaceutical, banking, business process outsourcing, IT , entrepreneurship and educational institutions. A majority of eth students also opted for a higher studies.

College Events

4.5

The events included Sharpshooters the first ever business quiz created by an graduate course for all colleges in Mumbai, this was also followed us with SIESONs the annual fest and the business fest which included events line business cases, debate competitions.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees were around 12000 per year and was not so expensive. this included the tution fees, the laboratory fees, the education assistance and library fees, the sports facility usage fees. Besides this there also used to books and study material related fees which was seperate.

Fees and Financial Aid

No there was no specific loan facility being offered other than the student loan facility offered. SIES did have some scholarships which were in place based on the academics scores and which helped as an assistance to the students.

Campus Life

4.5

There was a high diversity ratio with an equal number of males and females., there was a right mix between extra curricular activities and studies. The all round development of the student was the key motto and hence students were also encouraged to participate in such activities.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

There was no hostel facilities, it was a non residential program, there were daily classes and no hostel facility offered, students who wishes to take up accommodation used to look out for their own paying guest accommodation. Since predominantly the students were from Maharashtra there was no need for accomodation.

Alumni/Alumna

We were the first batch of BMS however the alumnus is doing well with many members taking up middle and senior level organizational roles in the corporate world. There has also been entrepreneurial ventures started by many friends.

Exam Structure

There were six semesters and each semester had subjects ranging from 6-9. Each paper has a practical exposure assessment component through class tests , assessments, papers. There was also then a university exam to end the semester for each subject area.

Admission

The entrance test and GD was the selection pointers which gave the scores post which you could opt as per the rules laid down in the centralized process by the Mumbai university. The other process included connecting with the college and completing the admission formalities.

Faculty

5

They were brilliant. I will take time to thanks my professors for the foundation that they built in us students, the inquisitiveness they created and most importantly the simplicity with which they explained the concepts. The varied learning styles each professor had helped us further to learn using new experimental teaching techniques.

Placement Experience:

From 3rd year students are eligible for placements. Most students opt for higher studies or other options. The placement cell is very helpful and patient. Most of the students who apply get placed. We also have summer internships and internships with NGOs which is a very good thing. The experience is amazing! Most students get placed in the consulting and marketing sector. Many well known companies vist campus all around the year. I plan on doing my masters in sports management. Before that I will be sitting for placements I plan on working for 1-2 years
