DIATM IS THE BEST ENGINEERING COLLEGE

Durgapur Institute of Advanced Technology and management is one of the top-rated Engineering Colleges in India. I have chosen this college because it promotes co and extracurricular activities for the overall personality development of the students. The college offers a clean and green campus with plenty of free spaces. As I have taken admission in Chemical Engineering and to be eligible to take admission in this course, students have to score more than 50% in class 12 and must have overall 75% marks in (PCM). And you must have a rank of less than 25k in your wbjee joint exam . Wbjee counseling has a total of three rounds and after each round if you get selected in your preferred course , you can book your seat immediately and pay the advance fees of 40k, and then you can pay the rest of the fees to the college later. As my Wbjee rank was less than 10k so i easily got my admission in Chemical Engineering.

Chemical Engineering includes the study of design, development, production, transformation, transportation, operation, and management of the industrial processes and turns raw materials into valuable products. It is a multidisciplinary branch of Engineering that combines natural and experimental sciences along with life science plus mathematics and economics. I have found that this branch of engineering is very interesting so, that's why I have chosen this course. The student to faculty ratio of our college is 1:23 The faculty members of our college are well experienced. They always try their best to prepare students for campus placements or prepare for GATE exams so that students can get admission to good colleges for their higher studies. Throughout the four years of your academic curriculum, they are very helpful to the students and always try their fullest to make your job/industry-ready.

Students from various departments in our college showcase their projects in the tech fests arranged by various top colleges like IEM and Techno India. If their projects get selected in the selection round then they can get various internships opportunities from the top companies in India like the Tcs, Mahindra , Bharat Infotech, and many others and can get a stipend of up to 25k per month. Most of the companies recruit students for 6 months internship programs and also the students get a chance to become familiar with the corporate world.

At present, the competition for employment is increasing and placement has become a challenging task. Training of students and recruiting them with skills has become an important responsibility of the institution. So, students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester. Our top recruiters are WIPRO, L&T , COGNIZANT ,TECH MAHINDRA ,ITC , IBM and many more. The highest package offered is 8.5 lakhs per annum and the lowest package offered is 3.6 lakhs per annum. The college data shows that from the past 5 years around 80 % of the students(including 3rd and final year) get selected during the campus placements every year.

The fee of my Chemical Engineering course is 3.32 lakhs. The college has kept its fees very low because the students who are financially weak and want to study engineering to secure a job in a good company can easily afford it. The fees of each and every course are structured in such a way that each and every student get a quality education at low fees. The college doesn't force students to pay their fees as the payment is flexible and students can pay their fees whenever they want. The library and management fees are free. And our college provides part-time jobs ,scholarships and loans to students who cannot afford their college fees.

The central library of DIATM is housed in an area of 13815 sq ft. and organized into various sections which are maintained by professionally qualified and skilled staff. The library has a rich collection of around 35000 volumes in Engineering with around 3500 titles. All the books are classified according to Dewey decimal classification and arranged in the classified order on shelves and are cataloged according to AACR 2. Our college has also hosted various state and national level Football and Tennis tournaments. Students from various colleges all across India have participated in these tounaments. Our college is also reknowned for hosting tournaments for popular indoor games like chess, table tennis, etc. The college has various technical and social clubs like Roca Club , Robospandan , Sports clubs like Joddha , Mountaineering club , Photography Club , etc run by both the students as well as the teaching and non teaching staffs.
