Entrance Preview

As all the engineering aspirants, JEE-Mains was the entrance exam (score 124), by which I got into this college for the course of Computer Engineering. Other course does not interest me much and earlier, I was more towards the side of some geek stuff of computer and gadgets that made me to choose this course.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Although I loved studying many subjects here, I am quite not satisfied with the course structures in some semesters. Before the admission, I was in desperate to know how this university teaches and differs from the other engineering colleges. but I didn't find much difference in the course curriculum. Subjects are taught nicely. The course structure was little bit lengthy in some of the semesters.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, It provides internships. I can't be sure of the general stipend but here are the companies that visited the campus for 2-Months internship: Morgan Stanley: 30k, Goldman Sachs: 25k, Amazon India: 40k, MAQ softwares: (Didn't announce).

Placement Experience

3.5

As I'm in the 3rd year, I am not aware of much details but the companies listed in internships were also hiring for full time placements. Some of the CTCs are listed also morgan Stanley: 12,72,000 rs, Amazon India: Goldman Sachs: 11,00,000 rs.

College Events

4

If you love events, This college is for you. Here we've got many student associations, some of national and some locals too. Every year there is fest conducted by most of the associations. The university itself conducts its own technical events as a part of NU-Tech. Also sports events as Sports Day and Cultural event as Vaudeville celebrated in the college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is the highest in the Gujarat state itself as far as I know. The fee for an entire year in the college is about 1,33,000 rs. on papers but adding other some fees applied by the University and Government it goes about 71,300/semester i.e. 1,42,600 rs per year.

Fees and Financial Aid

College provides scholarship. As I don't avail it but its kind of slab system in scholarships provided. there are slabs of 90k, 50k, 25k which students can avail based on their merit.

Campus Life

4

The campus life is quite simple here, yes some events are held opposite canteen. If there is something which is to be announced by student bodies, they are mostly held opposite of the canteen. Here, there is no discrimination based on gender, ethnicity, race, religion, sexual orientation or economic status. you find every kind of person in here. Even ragging is not the part of this college's campus.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

There is no hostel facility for B.tech students, only for the post-graduation they provide. PG's monthly rental here is about 6500 rs per month mess food is awesome, The quality of food is great. Normally Mess food is Punjabi. Canteen is good too, every kind of veg food is available here. Punjabi, Gujarati, Chinese, Fast Food, Momos, Maggi.

Alumni/Alumna

Here is the catch, here the Senior-Junior interaction is quite less than that of other colleges. Interactions with alumni, Forget it. Its not like seniors-juniors don't interact at all, but only those involved in any student bodies gets to interact. Neither Seniors nor juniors take interest to interact.

Exam Structure

Exam structure is quite complex, its divided into 3 portions, Here it goes: Component 1: Mid-Semester Exam (40 marks) + Classtest (30 marks) + Innovative Assignment (30 marks) = 100 component 2: Lab-Work(each practical of 10 marks)(75%) + Lab-Viva(25%) = 100, Component 3: Final Exam(100 Marks) = 100, Component 1 (40%) + Component 2 (20%) + Component 3 (40%) = 100 now if there is a subject which does not require labs, then Component 1 would be converted to 60% instead of 40%.

Admission

You can get admission in this college by three ways: 50% ACPC quota i.e. the body which governs admission process in Gujarat (Admission Committee for Professional Courses) 35% All India quota, 15% NRI quota I got the admission through the ACPC. ACPC does all the procedure online i.e. you have to buy the pin number with which you can register on the portal of ACPC. After, you have to fill the details of the course along with the institute/college (You're allowed to fill as many choices as you want). then based on your Board Marks and JEE-Mains score, the body prepares the Merit list (First comes the provisional list then the final). Then rounds starts to conduct, Mock Round, 1st Round, 2nd Round, 3rd Round if you are satisfied with the allocation of institute, you are required to go to the help center in order to confirm that seat otherwise you can go for the next round i got the admission in the 2nd round.

Faculty

3.5

All people are not same. Yes, there are quite brilliant faculties out here that teaches you very much nicely and thoroughly, but as I said not everyone is same, Every faculty has its own way to teach you, may be you like it or you don't. The standards are good as far as I know about my course.

this is tier 3 collage of surat so don't expect higer placements and big mnc come for the placements, in my placements they commited over 25+ local companies come from surat but actually only 15 has come and only 20 students got placement accross over 200 students(computer + IT). and the average placement is 2.5 lakh oper year. and most of the companies are red flag because they want students to sign 1-2 year bond with very low salary. then lets about training for placement, its ZERO big ZERO they dont provided the placement training, i have seen 90 students from 120 gets failed in apptitude round. they have not provided training for cracking the coding interview only those students are placed who have done preparation by it self even 9+ CGPA students didn't get placement.

Course is actually pretty nice . Subjects are tought according to the needs but the problem is about they do not update course according to the needs like `right now everyone should know how to use AI tools well , these small thing should also include in it. Apart from technical subjects they also have communication , ethics , personality developemt as a subject too but with less credits.

Placement is there and around 92-95% students get placed every year which is quite good in current economy. Highest package offered was 12LPA which is decent for aa college openend less than a decade ago. Average package is around 6LPA to 7LPA. There is no restrictions in semester in which a student can apply for placement but usually 3rd and 4th year students are the one applying. My plan after degree is higher studies in colleges like Monash etc
