Remarks

Most of the Student became activist which affect their career and family in near future. Since the institute is providing opportunity to students to work freely but due to different ideologies, students misuse it and which not only affect their life but also affect institute image.

Entrance Preview

TISSNET It is one of the test which comprises of objectives questions from various disciplines such as general awareness, quantitative aptitude, logical reasoning and verbal ability. It is a speed based test with no negative marking and anyone can easily crack after studying for a period of one month. INTERVIEW at TISS is itself a different exposure all together where you will get the opportunity to share your ideas and stand out yourself with reality. Lot of questions from your home state and hometown can be expected during interview.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Course curriculum is very inclusive as it is bit different from the courses offered at other institutions. universities as TISS has certain objectives and institute is successfully achieving leaning outcomes by engaging students in full time and part time on-going projects and also engaging students to find emerging areas to be touched for introduction of new projects. Hence, the institute is up to date in terms of work, consultancy and guidance & knowledge.Course curriculum is appropriate and yes it is better than any reputed b-schools/ IIMs.

Internships Opportunities

Tiss does not provide any stipend with any internship except for MA in HR PROGRAMME. Institute has a particular focus on social sector and promoting new NGOs to address emerging issues which not only fulfil market needs but also excel the expectation which a society has from the public.

Placement Experience

3.5

Overall placement is good as the students are being trained to serve the society, hence the objective and mission of the institute is aligned with most of the employment opportunities offered on campus. The compensation offered is below expectations and the future of most of the candidates are uncertain due to inefficiency in the project based work and yes mostly salary in the social sector depends on the donor.

College Events

5

This is the only institute in India which encourages students from any religion, any state etc. to celebrate the festivals on campus. Besides all the national and state festivals, student also celebrates indigenous festivals on world indigenous day. All the special days are being recognized by the institute with celebrations and student community support.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Its very reasonable, however, the scholarships, financial aids and regular reimbursements are being provided to students who can not afford. I would say its the best and affordable institute in India where you get the opportunity to complete your masters in 2 lakh.

Fees and Financial Aid

Financial aid and 100 % scholarships for reserved candidates belonging to various income groups. Research expenses, field work expenses, block placement expenses are being provide by the institute on the submission to actual.

Campus Life

4.5

Student are being trained to react on all the aspect of life whether it is social, political, emotional, educational, environmental. Student get the opportunity to enjoy annual festival called QUINTESSENCE besides all other festivals and day celebrations. Student engages themselves in various state level projects and also work directly with people and community for their rights.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

9/10 hostel are very spacious and the new campus hostel is really good and sometimes you also get a chance to see Bollywood stars on the lane connecting old campus to new campus as the kAPOOR'S BUNGALOW is located next to TISS campus. Institute has a good infrastructure, though there were lot of complains regarding accommodating on campus. Currently tiss accomodates all the students inside campus.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni is not string for all the programmes at TISS, however various efforts have been done by the institute in the recent past and currently every schools has alumni official groups and page on social media. Institute is focusing on strengthening the alumni network.

Exam Structure

It is flexible and student have the opportunity to write freely students do not consider exam as a evaluation tool, in fact they enjoy writing through which institute is easily able to achieve learning objectives and outcomes with the support of highly experienced faculty scholars and development practitioners.

Faculty

4

Faculty is GROUNDED and they come from the filed which support faculty in improving their teaching styles and faculty is continuously engaged with projects at national and international level. hence, they are up to date. Students are being guided to emphasis more of primary and field based actionable research.

Average package is 5LPA and it goes upto 16 LPA. The percentage of students getting placed is 60-70. My plans after the degree is to apply for my NET exam and after that I'll do my Ph.D in English
