Institute of Rural Management Anand is aligned with my career direction and dream. I planned to join IRMA only after I got some job experience, so that helped me get in. Internship and village fieldwork are great opportunities. Image of IRMA is well respected everywhere. I did Not take any education loan.

Core management subjects such as HR, operations management, operations research, marketing, economics, finance and accounting, organization structure and behaviour, etc. along with development subjects such as rural society and polity, development theory, rural livelihoods, etc. We have a village fieldwork segment and summer internship segment.

Placements have been growing across all sectors, but COVID has brought some uncertainty regarding recruiters for campus placement and retention of seniors. However IRMA has a great alumni network which is supporting and pushing for placements. IRMA mainly centres on rural finance sector, development and NGOs, FMCG. Regarding corporate firms, IRMA is very selective in order to retain its guiding principle of forging rural managemnet and professionalising the Rural sector in India. Highest-batch PRM 39 =50 Lakh, Average = 10 lakh.

Have not seen campus life yet, due to COVID-19. But we conducted extracurricular activities like a 3-week long cycling and running event, bi-weekly movie quizzes, etc. Our cultural committee and Laasya dance club conducted Diwali, Navratri events, the members collaborate to produce social media content. magazine committee has started the monthly Chimes newsletter in addition to Terra Firma, the institute magazine and the alumni magazine. Club activities and competitions, with one-to-one peer mentoring groups have begun already thanks to seniors.

We have dedicated sports room, sports committee. Anand Run is a marathon conducted by IRMA annually. WIFI connectivity all over the campus is available, provided by BSNL. Ravi J. Matthai library is a well equipped library with access to books, journals, e-journals and subscriptions to international research papers, newspapers, magazines. Classrooms etc are spacious.

Hostel rooms are single occupancy, one cot-mattress-2 pillows, 2 cupboard, writing table. Girls and boys have separate residential blocks. Mess is included, but the payment is done out of pocket. Since we have not yet seen the hostel due to covid, i can give limited information.

GD was based on a group activity. There were 2 rounds. A Set of 10 candidates was given a case wherein we had to rank according to our preference, a list of 10 options: which was the best way to tackle air pollution in a city, and then discuss among the group and arrive at consensus. In the 2nd case study, an elite extra-curricular club of Mumbai businesspersons were required to open its membership to people who did not typically belong to the "elites" group the club was famous for. This issue of exclusivity was raised by a minor politician who wanted to join the club. One out of 5 prospective members was to be selected.>PI: Interview was taken by a panel of 2 faculty members. I was asked about my hometown, Mysore, and places where I had stayed. What were these places famous for. I was asked about my workex in SCM, what were my roles and responsibilities. An example of crisis management where i was an active contributor. I was asked about "why rural management?".
