Remarks

I had applied for COEP Pune GECA Aurangabad VJIT Mumbai for all the courses but was not selected for them because I had fewer marks in CET 2017. I got MGM JNEC on the first merit list in Mechanical Engineering. I had no quota for the admission I belong to General Category. Criteria were 50% in PCM in 12 standard and valid scores in CET and JEE. I had 106 marks in MH CET and 37 in JEE Mains. I was eligible for the MH CET exam. I got admission in the first merit list. My rank was 10 in the list. There was no age barrier in the admission to the college. Admission was a hectic job. We had to verify all the documents from ARC center and then upload them online and then go ahead on the site. Then we were allowed the colleges we were eligible for the colleges. We had an option for float and freeze. But I froze it. Then we had to verify documents at the college along with fees (86000) further 5000 was refunded. There was no admission counseling from the college. I had to research on my own.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

I was good in Physics and Maths, so I thought Mechanical Engineering will help me in my career growth. Also, it is an evergreen branch in the industry. It is considered the core branch of Engineering. Faculty to student ratio was 1:30 or the same as that. The faculty were highly qualified and they had industry experience. but the teaching method was old and we didn't found interesting in the college expect a few of them. They used to take Class Assessment and MId term for internal assessment and it was really easy to pass in the final semester exam. Most of them used to score 90+ in internals and they easily passed the end semester exam without any difficulty. The term exams were timely scheduled within 4/5 months and it was really to pass those end semester exams. Even if you score 40/40 in internal exams, you passed that subject in the year. So it was really easy to pass. Also, there were internships and mini projects in the college time to get acquainted

Internships Opportunities

1.5

Internships- we used to find our own companies and most of them were unpaid. College provided some companies with unpaid. 2 got placed in SKODA. Projects - Final Year project was given but due to covid, it is still pending. My project was a solar panel using arduino.

Placement Experience

1.5

Students are eligible from the 7th semester for campus placements. Companies like TCS, Capgemini, Cognizant, Grind Master, BKT Tyres and BR Electrosystems, Skoda. Till now 15/20 students from Mech are placed in the campus. The average package is 2.5L and offers are made for the graduate trainee. highest package is 7L for coding. 10/15% got placed so far. My plan is to pursue MBA from a top B school in India and to start my own business later.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees was increased for the next batches but for us, it was same for all the four years. We had the fees of 81000 and the next batch was more than 90000. Cost to study was about 4L-5L. Scholarships were provided like EBC and SC ST OBC scholarships, in which we got fees waived till 50% of the fees.

Campus Life

4

The campus was really nice to study in. It was green and huge with a lot of facilities like a pool, sports ground, library, and canteens. All the books were available in the library. Classrooms were digital. It used a projector in the class. There were many clubs for extra curricular activities on the campus like NSS, Dance, Coding, Arts, Sports. Mostly all the clubs were run by students but the teacher used to head them.

Placement Experience:

The placement situation at my college is really good. It is getting better all the time. At my college students can start getting ready for internships and placement training from the semester. Then most of the full-time job opportunities start coming up in the semester. A lot of students at my college get something called Pre-Placement Offers or PPOs for short through internships before the actual placement season starts at my college. My college students get these PPOs. It is a big help to them. Placement, at my college is a deal and my college students take it very seriously. A lot of known companies come to the campus every year. The main companies that hire people from the campus are NVIDIA, JPMorgan Chase, Barclays, PhonePe, Microsoft, BMC Software and Citi Bank. Some companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro and Capgemini hire a lot of people from the campus. These companies, NVIDIA, JPMorgan Chase, Barclays, PhonePe, Microsoft, BMC Software and Citi Bank are really good at finding the people for the job. Companies, like TCS, Infosys, Wipro and Capgemini also give jobs to students. The Placement Highlights for the year 2024 to 2025 are looking good far. We have had some results. The highest package offered to a student is 45 LPA. The median salary is 9.5 LPA. This is a sign because it means that most students are getting a decent salary. 86.3 Percent of students have been placed so far. The average package is different for each company and role. For example a software developer will get a package than an analyst or a data engineer. Students who get the paying roles usually have strong coding skills. They also have projects to show and they do well in their technical interviews and in Data Structure and Algorithms which we call DSA for short. Placement Highlights for the year 2024 to 2025 show that these skills are very important, for students. The college does not promise that every student will get a placement. It really depends on the student. Students who ta

The students can apply for placements from the 6th semester, but they have to complete the whole 8 semester to start working. Companies like L&T, HCC, J Kumar, TATA Projects are our major recruiters, many MNCs and other top company like to hire from NICMAR. The college has genuine 100% placement, the students who generally do not get placed are ones who have family business or startups. After completing the degree and mostly interested in a job for the 1 to 2 years to gain some experience. Then I may consider options like higher studies or a business.
