Remarks

I applied for different NITs and IITs through JOSSA. I availed OBC Home state quota of Jharkhand as I completed my 12th from JHARKHAND. The minimum percentile required for NIT JSR is 97. JOSSA counseling starts on 6 October 2020 and ends on 7 November.

I choose ECE because this branch is eligible for software jobs. Faculty: student ratio is very less. Many of them are Ph.D. holders. Quite easy for the circuital branch and light tougher for another branch. Exams are mid sem and end sen

Internships Opportunities

Amazon, Groww, and many other offers internship for students of 5th semester. Internships are quite good at NIT Jamshedpur. Some of the students get PPO (Pre Placement Offer) from Amazon also. Some professors are quite good they also help you and courage you to do some projects and help to publish research papers also

Placement Experience

7th-semester students are eligible for placement and from 5th-semester students are eligible for internship. Big names for campus placement are Amazon, Goldman sac, etc. The highest package for this year(2017-2020 )is 30 lacs for CSE. and for the year (2016-2019) it is 70lacs from Mechanical. 95 % get placed from CSE and ECE and 85% from EE, 70-80 FROM other branches. My plan is to get an IT job.

Fees and Financial Aid

For the 1st semester it is 116000 And for the remaining semesters it is 104000. Including hostel and mess fee No hike from 2 yrs. Fee remission is as follow- 2/3 for a salary between 1 lacs to 5 lacs Full remission for below 1 lacs. Ekalyan scholarship. Best placement and internship among NITs.

Campus Life

Culfest- annual cultural fest Ojass - Technical fest Urja - sports fest There are many clubs and teams- Team Phoneix - aerodynamics team, Drift racing team, Dakash- off-roading car, team rays , revanta, are solar vehicles, ecoriders for eco-friendly cars. And many societies. The new building of 113 crores was built in 2020. With world-class facilities.

Hostel Facilities

For Boys- 1st Year - double rooms 2nd onwards - single room For girls - 1st year - triple 2nd onwards - double The meal is served 4 times in a day Hostel mess Meal is quite good The hostel is Mandatory for BTECH students.

Hostel Fee: INR 16000 per year

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

A Genuine Review

Placement Experience:

From 5th Semester onwards student are eligible for internship but from 7th semester they are allowed to sit in campus. Various companies like PayPal, Wipro , cognizant ,TCS ,Genpact ,Amdocs etc. Highest Package this year is 35 lpa and Average Package is around 7.5 lpa. Around 90% of students from circuital branch and around 80% students from non-circuital branch has been placed so far this year. My plan is prepare very smartly for campus placements and bag a very good PPO from are tech based company.

I applied for NIT Raipur NIT Durgapur and NIT prayagraj I selected this college NIT Jamshedpur because it has top class placement and the branch I was getting as mechanical engineering which is a decent branch. I got rejected from NIT prayagraj due to little less rank . The admission process of my colleges you have to qualify JEE mains with around 95 percentile to get any branch as a general student then you have to go for Josaa counselling in which you will be a lot at the seat . I did choose this college because it is quite old and reputed, being a govt college it has lesser fees and offered good placements, I got IIIT Lucknow as well, but didn't opt for it as it was quite new and didn't have proper hostel and residence facilities at that moment.
