Course Curriculum Overview

4

Since I chose mechanical engineering Most subjects involves some calculations. I have the passion for robotics and automation so most of my electives that I chose were more inclined towards mechatronics which is combination of mechanical engineering, electronics engineering and little bit of software engineering. This is very interesting field to me because most mechanical systems today involves electronics for controls and operation. Not many machines by itself is completely mechanical operated. As we move more towards automation there is lot more and more electronics coming into mechanical system, so mechatronics is an emerging field. Other than electives most other subjects very much involves designing of machines, thermodynamics and manufacturing.

Internships Opportunities

There was no internship during my time of studies at hkbk college of engineering. I don't know about the current situation whether college offers internship or not. I don't know if this is an requirement by the VTU university ot no.

Placement Experience

3.5

The placements during the year 2005- 2006 at my college was nice, specially if you are from software background. There were only few companies which recruited mechanical engineering. The packages for graduate engineers were around 2. 5 lakhs per annum

College Events

3

There were not many technical events at the college. But those who were more interested could go and participate to other near by college. We had graduation day event cultural event once a year and they were kind simple and decent.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The education fee for a free seat from CET is quite reasonable. This was around 12000 a year and needed little extra for college charges. The management seat was expensive about 40000 per year+ miscellaneous charges extra

Fees and Financial Aid

I didn't take any loan for education nor I was awarded any college scholarship. Most of my college fee was self funded. And I have not heard of anyone getting a scholarship fro my batch mates.

Campus Life

3.5

These was always opportunity at the college for someone who is really interested in debates, competition and cultural activities. This again depends on individuals how much interest you show to these events.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

I Did not stay at the hostel. The food at college canteen was nice and not very expensive. We ha d decent variety of food for both north Indian and south Indian

Alumni/Alumna

Some of my friend or batch mate irrespective of branch, we are still connected through some form of social media like linked-in. But I know there are other good ways which can help us keep connected is college alumni network. There is always an encouragement from the college for the alumni and eager to know about the students who have passed out of college. There is always a small get together or reunion activity during the college fest or open day. They invite the alumni and like if we can talk to prospective students and tell them about our experiences at college and give them much needed motivation to get started in positive way

Exam Structure

The syllabus of VTU board is kind intense. Its not usually the content but the exams were really tough. It needs more discipline and dedication if you have score good marks. The laboratories at hkbk college is very good. This is one of the best things abo

Faculty

4

My opinion about faculty at HKBK College of Engineering is mixed, we had some very good faculty like kinematics of machine, dynamics of machine, control engineering, Electrical Engineering and some manufacturing subjects. I still save the lecture notes of

Placement Experience:

Placements at RNS Institute of Technology are good. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th or 7th semester. Many companies visit the college, including IT and core companies. Some of the common recruiters include TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Accenture, and a few core companies for EEE. The average package is around 3 to 5 LPA, and higher packages are also offered for top-performing students. The highest package can go much higher depending on the company. Around 70–80% of students get placed, mainly in IT roles. For EEE students, core placements are limited, but there are good opportunities in software roles. The college also provides training and support for placements. After completing my degree, I plan to get placed in a good company and build my career.

Companies like HP, Infosys, Wipro come for recruiting and make offers from 3L per annum to 30 L per annum. Around 70 percent of the students get placed through campus placement. I plan on working for a dream company after completing my degree.

Placement Experience:

I applied to colleges like BMSIT and Sir MVIT, and I had confirmed seats there, too. I chose RNSIT because it has a better reputation for placements in my branch and the campus environment felt more welcoming. I didn't get into RVCE because my KCET rank wasn't high enough for their top branches, as the competition was very tough that year. The admission process is simple. They mainly take students through KCET and COMEDK. You need at least 45% in your 12th boards (PCM). Most students prefer KCET because the fees are lower. Once the seat is allotted through counseling, you just visit the campus, submit your documents, and pay the fees. The whole process was quite smooth and well-organized."

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is very unique, and very new, we are not taught irrelevant subjects and topics like every university does, Polaris school of technology (PST) is a new gen college which mainly focuses on tech, producing the best engineers not amongst india but amongst the world, it's aim is to produce engineers who are better than IITians and MITians, all these specifications influenced me to choose this course/curriculum When it comes to real-world applications, Polaris school of technology(PST) gives us real-life problems and scenario based projects through evaluations which help us in the future and helps us to build a proper approach for problems and train us to be the best. We have two main exams per sem which would be conducted every 3 months that is ½th of the sem, we have a total of 8 sems, so total 16 exams, our exams would be difficult for other college students, but not for us as we have the best mentors.
