Remarks
It was marvellous. Initially, there was a written test and then an interview. Everything went smoothly. The minimum cut off is 55 %. They give merit scholarship for 90% and above grade students. My overall experience is great. It promotes the overall development of the students.
Course Curriculum Overview
This is a unique course which offers to learn horticulture production, as well as post-harvest management to choice of sectors after completion of the degree, is very broad. The curriculum is well designed for industry 4.0. Faculty are well qualified and world-renowned researchers. The faculty-student ratio is pretty good. The academic calendar is sincerely followed. Even during Covid, there was not even a single day delay in classes. Rather University went online before lockdown. There was no delay in exams, internship and so on.
Internships Opportunities
I did an intership with global Agri and where I prepared a DPR for the establishment of a food processing park in the Northeast. It was quite a satisfying experience. Later on, I was offered a job by them. My batchmates did internships in various industries like food processing, hydroponic cultivation, new product development etc.
Placement Experience
From the 3rd semester onward student become eligible for placements. Students do internships with Mother Dairy, Reliance, etc. The program offers avenues with organizations and industries dealing with horticulture production, post-harvest technology, food processing industries, supply chain management, cold chain management, international marketing trading etc.
Fees and Financial Aid
University offers various types of scholarships. Last year 30 crore worth of scholarships were offered to the students. The fee is worth paying. the exposure which we get is quite unique. The university has MoU with 164 international universities.
Campus Life
The campus life is very vibrant. Many events and fests are organized. Even during COVID time also many online activities happened. There are more than 50 clubs at the university level and two clubs at the institute level. Thursday is dedicated to such activities.
